What goes around, comes around.
This is the same technology we gave to the Afghan insurgents in 1981 for use against the Soviets.

This is not high tech. The Miznay-Chardin effect has been understood for decades and was used even before shaped charges in the WWII German Panzerfaust.

US accuses Iran over Iraq bombs

The US military has accused the "highest levels" of Iran's government of supplying increasingly sophisticated roadside bombs to Iraq's insurgents.

Senior defence officials told reporters in Baghdad that the bombs were being used to deadly effect, killing more than 170 US troops since June 2004.

The weapons known as "explosively formed projectiles" (EFPs) are capable of destroying an Abrams tank.

US claims the bombs were smuggled from Iran cannot be independently verified.

The US officials, speaking off camera on condition of anonymity, said that EFPs had also injured more than 620 US personnel since June 2004.

This subject was dicussed earlier here:

1. Saddam had one of the largest arsenals in the Mid East, what happened to it?
Saddam had Sam missiles. He actually had a pretty complete arsenal except for the heavy stuff like jets and tanks and navel ships. The US made short work of those things, but he had lots of bombs and bullets and the US did not think it necessary to secure them. They disappeared, can you believe it, and have been showing up day by day and more Iraqis are getting trained on how to use the stuff. Who is doing the training? Well my guess would be ex military. The military Bremer disbanded. I think there is still a tremendous amount of armament still available without Iran having to supply it..Just my thought on it since there has never been any accounting of the missing munitions. I am fairly certain the Iraqis didn't destroy it..It was quite formidable so I have read...

3. Failing to secure the ammo dumps was the biggest mistake.
The insurgents have enogh ammunition to last them decades. Who would think that old artillery shells would have any use without the guns to shoot them? It's quite simple: Take a wad of plastic explosive with a detcord pigtail, stuff it in the fuze well, repeat until the transport vehicle is groaning under the weight, tie the pigtais together, tape in a detonator and firing mechanism, get some willing gomer to drive it into a highly populated area. Instant WMD.

2. republicon Ollie North made sure Iran got our weapons technology

and also a goodly supply of our US Hawk missiles.

Our sons and daughters in uniform who may die in action if Commander AWOl and Dick 'Five Military Deferments' Cheney order them to attack Iran, will have the 'comfort' of knowing the republicons gave Iran the weapons to do it (and made a tidy profit on the deal)

Why are so many republicons traitors to the United States of America?

Is money all the republicons care about?

5. Some background on self-forging projectiles:
