10. There is a NewZealand Basketballer playing over there
In interviews he said, its like a totally Western country.

He goes on to say the fans are crazy.

But I guess the MSM wont show anything like that, probably just pictures of Nuke plants.

2. I tried to find similar pics of Iraq, but we have even wiped out their memory
of such days. An internet search on Iraq leads only to unending pictures of death and destruction.

We have destroyed their present, their past and their future. Even their memory of good days has been "virtually" wiped out.

18. I too have been looking, there was an Iraqi documentary just before Bush invaded
on PBS but I have not been able to find it. In the documentary the people of Iraq look very Western/modern, much like the pictures posted her. Breaks my heart to see what these Bush fascist have done to them.

19. Me too. A crime of epic proportions. I wonder if they will ever be taught.
I wonder if Bush will ever pay for his crimes against humanity, his genocide. I remember reading that Saddam actually put more money into Iraqi infrastructure than most ME leaders.

If I recall, they also had a very well-educated work force including many women with doctorates.

That country is gone for now, but Iraq operates on a different time scale than we do. They have been through the grinder before. Perhaps they will recover. I'm not so optimistic about us. The taint of Vietnam and Iraq and every other country we have fucked with including Phiilipines, most of Central and South America, etc, etc. -that taint will stain our nation's soul forever.

21. At least Iranians can still see lovely photos of their country.
Iraqis cannot.

They cannot even find one picture of the peaceful land they once lived in on the internet.

All are muddied, bloodied pictures of the chaos we have visited upon them for no reason.

15. I am sure
someone could show peaceful serene pictures of the US even though we have the kind of sorry leadership in office. Their POS dictator is no better than ours. Its always the innocent that get hurt though.

11. I was eating lunch with a group of Iranians
a few years ago, and they told me they loved their country but hated their government, as did many Iranians. Being American, I told them I knew exactly how they felt.

Both of my daughters have Iranian friends, and I LOVE Iranian food, and besides I live near Iran, so for many, many reasons I don't want a war.
