Ann Coulter's latest piece of crap
I saw it in a bookstore today. It's called "If Democrats Had Any Brains, They'd Be Republicans". OK, reading the quotes on the back of it, I realized something. And that is this:

Ann Coulter is nothing more than the GOP equivalent of Triumph The Insult Comic Dog. I was flipping through her book looking for the phrase "DEMOCRATS ARE FOR ME TO POOP ON!!!!". But at least Triumph is watchable, and funny. Ann Coulter isn't.

1. She'd have to eat to poop
Given that she's made of broomsticks and baling wire, I don't think she manages the first part very often.

2. I can't post on Coulter threads.
Every time I do, the urge to refer to her as a (word that will ALWAYS get your post deleted) becomes too strong. But she is one, anyway.

6. People are too sensitive here.
C'mon! It's a political forum. People WILL hurl insults and pejoratives. It's unavoidable. I'm sorry, but people need to grow a thick skin in this business.

I put copies of Cesar Milan's new dog book over it. It seemed appropriate.

10. Normal people aren't buying them.
Edited on Sun Oct-07-07 09:25 PM by backscatter712
The reason why Coulter's books end up on the New York Times bestsellers list is because right wing groups buy them by the thousands, and leave them sit in boxes. It's to make the books seem more popular than they are.

In the same way, they're pushing money into Fox News and Rush Limbaugh and other propaganda outlets, the general idea being to saturate the public with their message, whether the public wants it or not.

11. I have always wondered where Costco ships the stacks of unsold Coulter books.
They probably either ship them to the nearest recycling facility or the 99 cent bookstores you see off the interstate in outlet mall territory.

I'm sure that if they donated them to homeless shelters, the homeless would have some great bonfire material.

14. So true... The only thing Coulter's image is good for is winning a costume contest on Halloween
Just get a 6 foot something guy with a skinny build who could double as Napolean Dynomite or Tom Petty, dress him up in a Coulter wig and really short black cocktail dress.

Make sure when raising the arms the cocktail dress offers a little cocktail "Hello!" Probably someone's done this.

19. Ann Coulter's job
is simply to rile up the left. The right has long held the burden of being the emotionally reactionaries. Hate filled and quick to rile. They are sick to death of liberal explaining why they are wrong. So what Coulter does is simply say things that she knows will get our goats. And then when we turn into a spitting foaming at the mouth reactionary to her comments the conservative base gets to feel a sense of vengeance.

25. She Needs To Read Ann Coulter
I remember this book by this blond Republican called "Slander..."
Anyway, it seemed the gist of this book was that Liberals/Democrats couldn't argue rationally, so they just called Conservatives/Repubicans idiots, stupid, etc.

I must say, that point made a lasting impression on me and I have tried (although it is hard sometimes) to remain rational and not lose my temper when confronted with what I perceive can only be either idiocy or evil. I have tried to think of logical counterpoints.

Yeah, maybe she needs to read that book and think about what it was saying.

26. Coulter's latest piece of crap
isn't even NEW crap. The whole "book" is just an anthology of "snippets" from things she's already written. Can it be that this human cesspool is finally finding she has nothing left to flush out? How many more ludicrous, easily disprovable lies can there be left to tell about progressives? You can reframe the same set of accusations in different words just so many times-- finally your own fans even tire of it, and go seeking some new firebrand with a different twist on libelous insanity. I think Coulter has finally produced one book too many for her audience-- even the psycho-cons aren't interested any more.

28. Who the hell would want to be a rethuglican?

Even rethuglicans don't want to be rethuglicans any more thanks to the damage done by all the GOP liars, thieves, and sex offenders. A lot of prominent rethugs say things are now in a FUBAR condition and they want to start a new party. Coultergeist is a lone voice shrieking in the wilderness. Damn shame, she used to be good for a laugh but she's not even funny any more.

Edited on Sun Oct-07-07 11:26 PM by PlanetBev
She does remind me of Triumph the Insult Dog, but unlike Triumph, she is unfunny and her schtick grows old, boring and tiresome. She knows the gig is almost up, and terrified of her fading youth, she desperately clings to her last vestiges of fame.

She's the political version of the Gloria Swanson character in Sunset Blvd.

Edited on Mon Oct-08-07 09:50 AM by backscatter712
Thom Hartmann once took a bunch of excerpts from Mein Kampf, made some very, very slight modifications (replaced "jew" with "liberal" and "Germany" with "America") in the text, and called it Ann Coulter's new book. Most people couldn't tell the difference.

At least that's what I was told by a friend who listens to Thom Hartmann regularly - I can't listen to his show that often on account of having to work.
