He says his show's ratings are improving. I hope if it's true, he's not influencing people.
I first really paid any attention to Coren a year or so ago, when I happened across his TV talk show (on CTS television,a religious network, in Ontario) while channel surfing. He was showing his right wing tendencies then, but hid the extent of his rabid beliefs by pretending to present all sides of the political spectrum fairly. He still says this on almost all his shows. According to him he is the only person in Canada who does not completely slant his show in favour of the extreme left. The panel is made up of mostly people on the right and the "liberal" people who are very far left and he hopes will make a bad impression on the audience. He also has ex-Liberal politicians who are angry at the party, such as Carolyn Parrish. He particularly has a hate on for the CBC, (which I suspect has something to do with the fact that they did not favourably revue a book he had written). I have noticed he has gotten bolder and bolder in expressing his right-wing leanings.
This column, is in Saturday's Toronto Sun and in it he berates us for being thankful for being in Canada. Incidentally he has lived here for about 20 years and is a citizen...he is from England originally. I find it absolutely off the wall in it's outrageousness.

Here's some snippets from his column:
"Don't mean to spoil your pumpkin pie and all that, but what exactly is it that we now sit down to pretend to be thankful for?"

"Now it's almost a crime to be proud of the founding culture of this country. A collection of economically viable shopping malls bound together by forced multiculturalism and force-fed liberalism."

There's much more in this collection of garbage if you can stomach reading it!
He also wrote a column, a year ago advocating the nuking of Iran! In it, this great Christian actually says "innocent people will die. But not many."
