Nora O'DONNELL just *cackled* uncontrollably at an old RAYGUN joke
It's on a G.E. Russert re-run on MSRNC. They had been talking about Dud-scud Fred THOMPSON, his age, his lack of vitality, his health, his possible laziness, and how all of these played to RAYGUN but didn't match up to RAYGUN.

But in going to break, G.E., of course, had to save it for his Rethugs, and said, "Yet, Ronnald RAYGUN said, 'They say hard work has never killed anybody, but why take a chance." And Nora just BURST into a prolonged, gleeful CACKLE!!1

Is she "up" to being a reporter?!1

Now they are on a full out attack on HRC. Oh, how she won't answer questions or take rock hard positions on anything, "Just, elect me and everything will be all right."

G.E. is saying that in other campaigns, candidates have been held to being specific about what they will do. HAH!1 Shub was NEVER pinned down on anything, not to mention that his record as governor, spelled out there in Molly IVINS' books, was NEVER given airplay.

Now they're moving on to bashing GORE. Nora, again. "He won't run, but he's LOVING the attention."

3. remember the efforts of that whacko group to have something named after him in every county
in the country? the section of the interstate that runs through this county was renamed for him--no public discussion, nothing. I called the idiot commissioners (ALL repukes) and informed them that I saw nothing honourable, or noteworthy, about this sick, warmongering person, and would never again use that section of the highway. they thought I was joking.

of course, there was gambling addict bill bennett the other day, whining about why raygun never got the nobel peace prize!!

5. It (naming every urinal after him) could STILL happen, when Nancy kicks
(shudder)

As much as I've maligned her over the years, she was ALL that stopped those a-holes trying to take FDR off the dime for RAYGUN. She "just said no" and that poked a hole in their balloon-- for the time being.

4. I hate it when these pundits......
Edited on Sun Oct-14-07 12:04 PM by Jade Fox
speak for people who are not present to speak for themselves. How the hell does O'Donnell know Gore is "loving the attention"????

God, I hate pundits! They are ruining our country's political life by "beating to death good ideas and leadership, and then rolling around in the mess", as pointed out in this article:

7. Yip. And it all goes back to LIMBOsevic who has polluted the arena
by making EVERYTHING a matter of scorched earth. All or nothing. Never give an inch.

We've had to go that route out of self-defense and too much losing. The polarization is killing us.

12. That is why we are making no progress as a country.....
Before an idea can even get out of the gate it is attacked, vilified, defended, morally condemned, or simply abandoned because it is less than perfect.

More and more we are going to see other nations sail past the U.S. in sophistication and progress. Meanwhile, we can't make a move for fear Rush will sic his dittoheads on us and the pundit media will "debate" it until everyone is convinced it could never work.

6. Please don't use words like "whore" and "cackle" when describing Ms. O'Donnell

It's very disrespectful to whores and cacklers. Thank you.

9. ouch--you are absolutely right!!! I have maintained for years that we need to create a whole new
lexicon to cover the reichwingnuts. our language as it currently stands cannot begin to convey the depths of their hatred, their venom, their ignorance, their loathing for the people.

8. My favorite Reagan joke...
Bear in mind... this was years before he was diagnosed w/Altzheimer's.

Ron and Nancy go into their favorite restaurant. When they are seated, the waiter comes over and asks Nancy what she'd like. She orders "Surf and Turf" and a salad. The waiter asks "...And the vegetable?"

Nancy answers.. "Oh, he'll just have his usual,"

I laugh.... bitterly... every time I think about it.

a SoCal native, and said, "are you and I the ONLY ones who knew he had alzheimer's when he was governor?"
