Looking for plastics recycling in Huntington, WV?

Well, I was, and I've found that apparently only one place here accepts plastic. It's Allied Waste (formerly BFI). They accept #1 and #2 plastics only.

Since it took me a while to round up this information, I thought I'd share and save others some time. :) Also, if anyone knows of any other place in the Huntington area that accepts plastics for recycling, please feel free to post that here, too. We have several places locally that accept metal, including cans, for recycling, but plastic seems to be another matter altogether.

1. To the greatest extent possible, avoid buying ANYTHING that comes

in plastic you can't personally recycle locally. And write to manufacturers telling them why you won't buy their products and asking them to use TRULY recyclable plastic packaging.

If enough people did this, you'd be amazed how quick things would change. Hit them in the pocketbook.
