Poll: Half of Americans would 'never' vote for Sen. Clinton
While Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) has won broad support in national tracking polls in her quest for the presidency, the former first lady is steeped in negative attitudes, according to a Zogby International poll released Sunday.

Half of likely voters nationwide said they would never vote for New York Sen. Hillary Clinton, in a poll Zogby conducted Oct. 11-15, 2007, with a margin of error of +/– 1.0 percentage point.

"This is up from 46% who said they could never vote for Clinton in a Zogby International telephone survey conducted in early March," the poll asserts. "Older voters are most resistant to Clinton – 59% of those age 65 and older said they would never vote for the New York senator, but she is much more acceptable to younger voters: 42% of those age 18–29 said they would never vote for Clinton for President."

This poll doesn't look right to me. I think their sampling was skewed towards the Republicans.

12. I dont know how often I hear:
"Sure I would vote for Kucinich, but he hasn't a chance" If each one of them who has ever said that, voted for him, he would be in the running. People have been brainwashed into believing he doesn't stand a chance. Who gave them that idea, and why?

2. Sure looks that way.
I wonder what sort of matrix they used to determine whom to poll.

3. It really doesn't matter
Just think of the small minority of all registered voters who get out & vote. . . This poll appears to have been aimed at half of all Americans, not necessariy all voters, or all likely voters, etc.

6. why not Biden?
I watched the interview with Biden this morning-- again he seems the one with experience, ideas, and actual honest record against the war-- so much more than Hillary offers. Please Dems let us move away from the same old establishment ideas presented in a form with will loose the election!

4. Why do you think it's skewed toward Republicans?
In general, the poll seems to suggest that most people prefer Democratic candidates to Republican ones. With the exception of the outlyers Huckabee and Clinton, it's almost uniformly true.

7. Kerry found out..the younger voters don't come out to vote.
The biggest dissapointment to the Kerry camp was the younger voters did not turn out in near the numbers they expected.

14. I know the MSM ran stories after 2004 that backed up your statement...
but closer review of the polling data shows that the MSM lied about that too:

http://www.pewtrusts.org/news_room_ektid17696.aspx

The proportion of young voters to the total voting public was not significantly different because overall turnout was higher. Group 18-29 was the only group to go for Kerry, by a margin of 54-44. Kerry got 4 million more younger voters than Gore did in 2000. That age group turned out at nearly 65% in the battleground states. I fail to see how that could be considered a disappointment.

16. i got my info from inside the Kerry Camp..they did not get the numbers of youth they anticipated ..
not by a long shot.

It was the biggest worry that went on all day of General ..by the internal communications of the Kerry Camp.

19. Your original statement was that young voters don't come out to vote...
which, as I pointed out, is not accurate if you look at the dramatic increase in 2004 from 2000 and the nearly 65% turnout in battleground states. Those are fantastic numbers by historical standards.

I can believe a lot of things about how bad the Kerry Campaign was mismanaged, but I really find it hard to believe that they could seriously be expecting much more than what they got from the youth vote in the battleground states. What figure did they expect? Ninety percent?

Is it really that the youth did not turn out in 2004, or is it that someone in Kerry's camp expected some ridiculously high figure and had egg on their face when it fell short?

18. Repugs & most of the Corp, Media are pushing for Sen. Clinton.
They want her to be the Dem Nominee because they think that she can be defeated by a Repug.

The Repug will be Mitt or Rudy. I suspect it will be Mitt/Jeb.
