2. The shameless Repugs slam Pete Stark.
This repugnant Busholini skit is a major example of the Silver Spoon Sociopath's callousness.

10. For a real laugh read the Sept 2001 and Oct 2002 AUMFs and the '73 WarPowersResolution
The AUMFs give * sole war making discretion (unconstitutionally) and then to add insult to injury the WPRof'73 is 'embedded' within each of the AUMFs.

This is shocking since the WPRof'73's language says that 'clear', read truthful, 'situations' and 'circumstances' are required before US troops can be put into harm's way.

And * is looking under his desk ? WTF ?

13. I saw this when it aired live

on C-SPAN. I was mortified and disgusted! I've looked for this clip online and hadn't been able to find it. Thank you so much for posting this.

On edit: the sound is broken on my computer, so I hadn't watched the clip before I responded to you. I wish it was an uncut tape. This joke was part of a whole skit called something like, "The Bush Family Photo Album". It had other equally tasteless "jokes." The most interesting part was the cut-aways to all your favorite on-air news personalities, yukking it up. Only Barbara Walters had the grace to look disgusted.

K&R :kick:

15. Bush jokes about the private military contractors

Video: Bush on Contractors in Iraq

Text:

Q Thank you, Mr. President. It's an honor to have you here. I'm a first-year student in South Asia studies. My question is in regards to private military contractors. Uniform Code of Military Justice does not apply to these contractors in Iraq. I asked your Secretary of Defense a couple months ago what law governs their actions.

THE PRESIDENT: I was going to ask him. Go ahead. (Laughter.) Help. (Laughter.)

Q I was hoping your answer might be a little more specific. (Laughter.) Mr. Rumsfeld answered that Iraq has its own domestic laws which he assumed applied to those private military contractors. However, Iraq is clearly not currently capable of enforcing its laws, much less against -- over our American military contractors. I would submit to you that in this case, this is one case that privatization is not a solution. And, Mr. President, how do you propose to bring private military contractors under a system of law?

THE PRESIDENT: I appreciate that very much. I wasn't kidding -- (laughter.) I was going to -- I pick up the phone and say, Mr. Secretary, I've got an interesting question. (Laughter.) This is what delegation -- I don't mean to be dodging the question, although it's kind of convenient in this case, but never -- (laughter.) I really will -- I'm going to call the Secretary and say you brought up a very valid question, and what are we doing about it? That's how I work. I'm -- thanks. (Laughter.)

So Bush thinks this is funny: The dangerous process that placed Blackwater in Iraq killing civilians, trying to steal planes

16. And don't forget Bush pumping his fist and declaring "feels good!" minutes before announcing
the invasion of Iraq had begun. Only a despicable sociopath "feels good" about starting a war let alone a war based upon lies.

President Bush announced the attack in a four-minute television speech to the nation. "On my order, coalition forces have begun striking selected targets of military importance to undermine Saddam Hussein's ability to wage war," he said. "These are the opening stages of what will be a broad and concerted campaign."

Minutes before the speech, an internal television monitor showed the president pumping his fist. "Feels good," he said.
