I'm not making this up. Actual quote from today's sports page.

It's a good thing there are no NASCAR haters out there :)

1. I'm not a "hater"...
but I can't see the attraction to watching white men in cars turn left for 3 hours. I know, I know; there are 2 road courses where they turn left AND right. Whew! That must really throw them for a loop.

Now, if they turned the NASCAR tracks into a figure 8 configuration, that might be worth watching. ;)

I blame the water in the gas on BIG OIL and the Bush administration (actually one in the same), trying to wring every penny they can out of NASCAR's pockets. ;)

2. I admit it...I like NASCAR!
And the wreck last week was horrifying. Imagine all the cars revving up to go full out on the green and the leader's car does not go. BAM. Scary shit.

This year there have been many incidences of cheating by pit crews, drivers and now this.....

I know it's weird but racing has been in my family for a long time. Some of my early childhood memories ae being at the track, walking the pits, meeting the drivers....

3. I don't get it either
Driving ones of the cars would be fun...watching it, for me, not so much.

I'm sure I like stuff other people find dull too. People automatically take " I find that dull" to mean " I hate that and no one should watch it"

4. The only racing I like are F-1 and Enduro races (ie Baja 1000)
You never know what the hell is going to happen.

5. F1? It's pretty rare to see a pass and the pole winner always seems
to win the race. Now that's boring to me. Drag racing on the other hand :loveya: . But to each their own...

7. But wouldn't it be more fun if it was part of a nefarious scheme?
Incompetence and accidents are boring. But what if some mad-genius sabotaged the race, like in that old movie Death Race 2000.
