3. Saw a preview showing and no one walked out

The acting is very good.

Tom Cruise and Meryl S. are excellent.

It's too short and the ending is weak IMO.

The message is OUTSTANDING!!!!!

5. I don't get it

Even Ebert didn't like it.

I thought it was a good movie. The contrast between the characters (and their predicaments) was thought provoking. Perhaps too many themes were thrown in and get confused because of the three concurrent narratives. It reminded me of Babel (which probably influenced the screenwriter). It's up to the viewer to draw their own conclusions. One important theme the movie deals with is the disconnect between citizens...the politicians who seem to play games with soldiers lives, the students who seem to be removed from the reality of the war and the press who tries to report but ends up cheerleading.

6. I met these really cool women this afternoon...
They had just seen it and didn't know just quite what to make of it.

Said they were going to discuss it along the ride home.

Maybe drink some wine.

7. I saw some "reviews" on Yahoo

Mostly it was moranic freepers upset that it wasn't right-wing propaganda. Mostly it was the usual criticisms "anti-American, anti-military, etc". I have not seen Lions for Lambs yet, but these idiots made me want to see it.
