Bastard better not ask for money or time NEXT TIME AROUND.
U.S. Rep. Nick Lampson, D-Stafford, has broken from the majority of House Democrats for several votes:

• He was one of only two Democrats to oppose expanding a federal assistance program for workers who lose jobs because of globalization.

• He joined 10 other Democrats to vote against an energy bill that would repeal $16 billion in tax breaks for oil and gas companies.

• He was one of eight Democrats who voted against a bill to exempt 23 million Americans from the alternative minimum tax. To pay for the exemptions, the bill would have raised taxes on hedge funds and some private equity managers.

• He was among 25 Democrats who opposed the Employment Non-Discrimination Act. It would have prohibited using sexual orientation when deciding to hire, fire or promote an employee.

2. He's in a tough district
Tom DeLay's distirct, to be exact. He had no Republican opponent last time, yet the write-in Republican got 40% of the vote.

And yet I'm not sure any of this pandering to the Right will work. Texas Republicans vote, well, Republican.

3. It won't work and he's in a way more liberal district than you'd think --
The demographics have changed since Tommy Boy went in.

Lampson's a sellout.

4. I'm in his old district and...
I have every intention, and in fact am already doing some things, to work against Lampsons' re-election. I supported him strongly when my precinct was in his district, and thought that there were a lot worse out there...namely the nearby Tom DeLay. But what has been previously noted is that Lampson in order to try and retain his seat has become Tom jr. So! Out he goes, and do't give that shit about supporting him because he calls himself a Democrat. Tome DeLAy would do so if he thought he could slip that ugly little face of his past the electorate un-recognized.

Wanna hear the worst though...our precinct got saddled with ol' Twirly-eyes' himself...Ron Paul. You simply have no idea how nuts this guy is until you get up close and personal with the weird bastard. btw, when you get down to checking out just how much 'pork' he has funneled Brazorias' way you realize he don't really practice what he preaches...if he had he would never have been re-elected in that home district of his.

ohhhh wellllllll!

6. All you have to do is go to the mall and look at all the different kinds of people
(which is what lured me here, before I paid much attention to politics except to know that I was a Democrat and hated Reagan) to see that there is no way Sugar Land, at least, is hardcore Republican - if it is, either something's seriously weird or a lot of people don't vote.

5. I'm in his district
and I'm getting to where I'd almost rather have an actual R than him. Can't tell him from one anyway....

I'm sick of all the Blue Dogs, actually. What are they doing in my party...?!

7. I too am disgusted; thanks for reminding me. For all the good it will
do, I just e-mailed him to let him know. "I" feel better.
