Peaceful Revolution and America's Restoration
It has come time to seriously discuss World Peace and how America can lead the way by example. Our current situation, which has us involved in an immoral & illegal war of aggression and the occupation of a sovereign nation, all based on lies, is NOT the way to get there.

The first thing that we have to do is bring all of our troops home. From everywhere! We will offer a "Pledge of Peace" to not just our allies, but to ALL nations and governments and we will work to get everyone to sign on.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

PLEDGE OF PEACE

We, the Government/Nation of __________________, pledge that we will not use our military forces in an aggressive manner to any nation, period.

We, the Government/Nation of __________________, pledge that we WILL help defend ANY nation who asks for our help against any other nation, including our current allies, who has broken or not signed this Pledge of Peace and is involved in aggressive acts of violence and/or war toward a peaceful nation.

We, the Government/Nation of __________________, pledge to end the arms race and to work for peaceful solutions to our problems.

We, the Government/Nation of __________________, pledge to disarm and destroy all nuclear weapons that we currently have and to end production of them immediately.

We, the Government/Nation of __________________, pledge to become leaders of the Peace Coalition and to lead by example.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Now you might be asking "won't this mean that we have to scale down the military and make a lot of people lose their jobs"? The simple answer is "No". Now you might ask "well, what are going to *do* with all these military guys"? The answer to that is "we keep them working". How do we keep them working? There's an answer to that, also...

We can keep our Army and Marine Infantry & Recon troops busy patrolling our borders on land and we can do away with the Border Patrol, or at least scale it down to a minimum. The Air Force would patrol the borders by air, giving support to the guys on the ground. Our Navy will patrol our coast lines with fleets in the Atlantic, the Gulf of Mexico and the Pacific.

Other troops will help with the restoration of America from within. Construction Battalions can help rebuild inner cities and blighted, decaying neighborhoods. Surely if Congress can find trillions of dollars to sustain a war, they can find the money to sustain peace, right? This could also be a Government Investment opportunity. The Government will be given the right to claim ownership of all abandoned homes, office buildings, apartment complexes, schools, stores, businesses, hospitals, condominiums, hotels, motels, etc., so they can begin the restoration process.

This can also help rebuild our economy because all materials used in the rejuvenation of blighted cities will be purchased from local vendors and suppliers. Locals can also be hired to help on construction sites if the military needs extra help.

Once these blighted and decaying cities are rebuilt, the government can either keep control of these buildings, or they can sell them at fair market value, with low interest self held loans to individuals. The Government can and should retain ownership of some rejuvenated homes and apartment complexes to start housing our homeless population.

Together we can rebuild America and ensure peace and prosperity. It takes a lot less effort than keeping a war going, and EVERYONE benefits from it.

PEACE!

Ghost

8. We don't *start* wars... and we don't *help* anyone start a war, but...
we will help *defend* any nation who is being attacked...

"We, the Government/Nation of __________________, pledge that we will not use our military forces in an aggressive manner to any nation, period."

There's a big difference between being "aggressive" and being "defensive".

We also will not involve ourselves in any other nations Civil Wars or religious wars.... if they want to fight amongst themselves, as they've been doing for 1000's of years... so be it... it's NOT our problem, *they* need to get *their* country under control whether they have to split the country up or come to a peaceful compromise...

9. But, there is no money in peace.
Or, the "few" will benefit far less.

It is people like Warren Buffet that we need in our camp for a peaceful revolution. Can we convince the 1% that this is in their best interest? Are they convincible (sic)? I am a strong supporter for mandatory service to our country in the form of service... as long as the goals are a shared one benefiting the majority/country as a whole. I would submit for duty tomorrow to accomplish the ends portrayed in your OP.

Peace.

10. I would proudly serve in any capacity I could right along beside you..
But what does it take to get more people to join us? All it takes is people willing to work together, and compromise if and when need be, to work for the greater good for all of us.

A journey starts with one step... who's willing to take those steps?

12. We don´t have to do any convincing
by signing a paper or asking another country to work with us. We are the problem. We have to act.

Why do we need hundreds of thousands of soldiers protecting the borders?

Who will be attacking US?

13. We're not the *only* problem, though... so it's not quite that simple..
"Why do we need hundreds of thousands of soldiers protecting the borders?"

Ummm... because we have a problem with illegal immigration? Although I don't see where it would be "hundreds of thousands"... I don't think we should take away jobs from the military because some of those people who join do so because they have no other options to further their education and/or find gainful employment. Rejuvenating some of these blighted & decaying cities could help that problem, but we have to fix *them* first, wouldn't you agree?

Welcome to DU..... :hi:
