It ain't the water on the dish but rather all those little
raindrops and the lightning-ionized air between your dish
and the satellite.

We always know when the really big thunderstorms are coming
'cause the DirecTV conks out about five minutes before the
deluge gets to us.

13. I'm betting the Abramoff thing but
the Larry Flynt thing would be great too. Hey, maybe it's both. In any case, it's delightful news. And I think there's a dem who's viable as a candidate and was going to run if Cochran decided not to.

I'm confused. How does this relate to "spending more time with his family?"

48. Wow, the comments are blistering
very little support for Lott there, except for the poster who thinks that Lott voted to impeach Nixon. Hey wonderchild, impeachment is done in the house, not the Senate. And Nixon was never impeached, I don't even think it was brought up for a vote because Nixon resigned first and then Ford pardoned him.

33. No Special Election On This One
Lott was re-elected in '06 and unlike a Congressional district, if a Senator retires or dies, the governor can select the replacement until the next scheduled general election. Now, this could be interesting as Lott will retire prior to 1-1-08, but is this before or after deadlines the state puts on for the primary (they're all early this year) that could give Barbour a loophole to prolong an election until '10.

Remember, Cochran decided to stay...thus, even though he's up for re-election in '08, he's expected to win easily. In Lott's case, an '08 election could be fun. Blue Dog, Gene Taylor has long wanted the seat and Kos reported that the former Sec. of State (I think) is also interested...so this seat could be in play.

HairHelmet's departure smells...this lobbying crap is bullshit for various reasons...the laws sure didn't stop DeLay from finding ways to cash in and take his act to K Street...something else must be brewing for this sudden announcement during a Congressional recess.

This is invaluable information and something a REAL Media would refer to if they were even Faintly interested in selling any damn Truth for a change... How I long for the days of REAL Media, where someone would get this bastard on a show and gut him like a pig with this story..

I want to see him run from the studio, chased by an actual Reporter, like Mike Wallace did to a scumbag on 60 Minutes once...

I hope to god the Blogs PUSH this angle on Lott until the Media has no choice but to cover it - that's what Takebackthemedia.com used to do before I moved on to film and writing a book.. Maybe it's time for me to sell the site and hand the reins over to someone who'll kick some ass with it again..

Again, many thanks for posting the links - perhaps you could get the ball rolling on this angle to attack the bastard by making it a thread all its own? I'll be glad to K & R it if you will..

51. Did Trent Lott Keep Gay Rent Boy?
http://www.queerty.com/news/did-trent-lott-keep-gay-rent-boy-20071126/

The way BHDC tells it, Lott may have been involved with an escort named Benjamin Nichols:

Nicholas told Big Head DC today via e-mail that he didn’t want to go on the record to talk about his dealings with Lott, because, said Nicholas, “Trent is going through his fair share of scrutiny right now and I don’t want to add to it.” However, e-mail and other records confirm that the two have met on at least two occasions.
