Colorado church shooter home schooled by "deeply religious" family

The crazy right is continuously claiming, as usual with whiny-ass cowards, to be victims of some kind of religious attack, as evidenced by having seen a menorah or a non-religious book somewhere. Now they are claiming that the murders at two churches in Colorado is more evidence of their persecution.

Although generalizing from the particularities of any such killer's background is just nonsense, the fact is that this young man had precisely the kind of childhood training the crazies would recommend. 3. I watched the local press conference here in Colorado this afternoon

They introduced the woman who was the security person who shot him. She attends that church and also volunteers to be security.

Every other sentence out of her mouth was about how god was with her. He kept her calm. It was only her, the shooter and god. God kept her hands steady. It was nauseating. I wanted to yell - where was your god when the shooter was dropping those two little sister dead? And where was your god when the shooter shot their father?

It was nauseating. Those fundies have their heads up their collective ass - and the children suffer. Children literally killing children.

I don't doubt that her police training and personality type helped her, and maybe being a delusional also kept her from freaking and wetting herself, but the idea that some sort of supernatural being would choose to protect her after that same imaginary critter which apparently had just giggled or been otherwise preoccupied when two teenage girls were murdered a minute earlier would decide to protect her, well....
