Comment from two Repubs about Al Gore
"If the Democrats had any sense, they'd nominate Al Gore by force if need be. Nobody on either side could beat him."

This coming from two very conservative, business-type (not wingnuts, not fundies) Repubs.

And they're right.

3. Not public figures. Private citizens.
And you probably wouldn't know them. Just a comment from the "heartland."

4. They are right. It is quite obvious and self-evident.
Which makes his behavior all the more puzzling, at least in terms of the America's needs as opposed to his own personal needs.

Not that I or anyone has the right ot judge him. He has done more public service by age 20 (and unlike Bushies, his was actually service to the public) than most or all us have done in our lives.

I am not judging him, but I think it is a tragedy for the whole world, given the the Bushies are very effectively degrading and destroying the American Experiment (1776-2000, RIP old friend) so rapidly.

If the Bushies have their way, every person on the face of the Earth will live virtually enslaved like we who live in the Big Three Totalitarian States, Amerika, Russia, and China, lareday are or in Amerika's case, rapidly becoming.

From that regard, Al is guilty of derilection of duty when we need him most. But who knows, maybe he will turn out to be correct and that he can do more while not being President.

What that means to those of us who may have to continue living under the Bushist Tyranny of 9/11ani? I shudder to think.

5. No if Gore had any sense he would run for president because as president
he could really do something about global warming and a host of other issues. Dems cannot forceably nominate somebody who doesn't want it.

6. My family is full of Republicans, and they think Gore is an idiot and unelectable.
I disagree with the idiot part.

8. Why -- if he doesn't want to run now.
We have three front runners, Clinton, Obama, Edwards and four or five others and any damn one would make a good president. Why waste Al Gore now? He is not in the mood to run. He doesn't want to run. So when he does I say he'll go for it.

ANY AGAIN ANY ONE OF THE THREE TOP RUNNERS AND MAYBE SOME OF THE LOWER TIER WOULD BEAT THE PANTS OFF ANY REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE.

10. I wish it were otherwise, but it's already almost too late
for Gore to even endorse a candidate, much less become one himself.
