CAPE GIRARDEAU, Missouri (AP) --

Timothy Krajcir (on left)

For decades, people in this scenic Mississippi River town have been haunted by the thought
that a man who killed five women here could be walking free.

A police investigator took home a copy of the case file when he left the force, reading it
at night to see if any clue had been missed. A son of one victim collected books on serial
killers, desperate to learn how they thought, while a friend of another victim visited psychics
in hopes of learning the killer's identity.

The obsessive hunt for answers came to an end when murder and rape charges were filed against
Timothy Krajcir, 63, who is already serving time in an Illinois prison on unrelated sex crime charges.

Prosecutors say Krajcir, a man with a long history of sex crimes, has admitted killing nine people
in cold cases dating back at least 30 years. Five of the women were killed here, and another was
killed in Illinois. Police won't reveal the location of the other three killings until they bring
charges in those cases.

Glad he's off the streets!! Another guy from North Carolina caught in MA.;
is also going away too and heading to NJ to face murder charges.

Trucker Pleading Guilty In Attack On Teen

LOWELL, Mass. --

N.C. Man Facing 10 Charges, Including Home Invasion, Rape

POSTED: 1:56 pm EST December 10, 2007

A North Carolina truck driver is changing his plea to guilty in an attack on a 15-year-old girl in her Chelmsford home.

Adam Leroy Lane, of Jonesville, North Carolina, is scheduled to enter the plea Tuesday in Lowell Superior Court.
The 43-year-old is accused of 10 charges, including home invasion and attempted rape of a child.

It was unclear if he would plead guilty to all the charges. Calls to Lane's lawyer were not immediately returned Monday.

Lane also is charged in a fatal stabbing in New Jersey on July 30.

Lane was arrested that night in Massachusetts after he allegedly broke into a 15-year-old girl's
room and tried to rape her. Authorities say the girl's father heard her scream and held Lane in a
headlock until police arrived.

In New Jersey, Assistant Hunterdon County Prosecutor Charles M. Ouslander said the plea in Massachusetts is not part of a universal settlement.

"Once they've resolved those charges, we'll bring him back to New Jersey to face the charges in our indictment," Ouslander said.

He's also suspected of more murders up and down the east coast. Another serial killer gone! Good!

1. I think with the advent of DNA and other forensic equipment
these murderers are being found out and taken off the street. BUT by the same token, why won't some of the states allow DNA from cases be tested to see if men/women in jail, now, are innocent. Some states are absolutely refusing the DNA to be tested. They say they have the right person. That's ignorant. If they test proves they are guilty, then they are right. But what I think is, they don't want to be proven wrong.

2. I agree they should test to see who has been falsely charged but

that costs MONEY, don't you know? (sarcasm)

I'm glad that there are people fighting that ignorance too. The Innocence Project does good work.

I'm glad they caught that trucker! Pretty scary dude!! He was seeking out houses at random!

Parking his truck and then walking around looking for a house to break in to... :scared:

And my son gets aggravated with me when I get ticked off because he fails to lock the doors. :eyes:

4. I suspect he'll be in a Maximum security prison
so his chances of escaping are probably nil.

That's probably why he pleaded guilty, to escape the DP.
