Goldman Sachs Christmas bonuses
http://money.cnn.com/2007/12/13/news/companies/goldman_bonuses/
<snip>
Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein could take home as much as $70 million this year, according to a published report.

The Financial Times, citing company insiders, said Blankfein is in line for a 30 percent pay hike. Last year, Blankfein was awarded a $54 million payout, a record for a Wall Street CEO.

Bankers at Goldman (Charts, Fortune 500), which has weathered the credit crisis better than its Wall Street rivals, are also set to benefit this year, the newspaper said.

The bank's compensation pot - or the money used to pay employee salaries and bonuses - is estimated at $20 billion, the report said. Based on Goldman's 29,000 full-time staff members, that would come to about $360,000 per person, the FT said--------

Another WTF moment!!

1. Maybe they got mine.
I'm getting the feeling they've cut off bonuses in our office this year.

4. Wonder how many temporary employees without benefits they
hire to allow them to keep these fat cats rolling in clover.

8. I cannot complain about mine
I usually get a few hundred from my boss and the regional managers ( plus numerous bottles of champagne and boxes of chocolate) and dinner and hotel room at the casino the night of the christmas party. It's a small business, but the owner is a great guy who takes care of his employees.

12. They should really use median bonus
for this statistic because Blankfein's 70 million bonus will skew the stats. I bet it is still very high though. Goldman is giving back to the employees for their great work. What is wrong with this? This sounds like a great thing to me. :shrug:
