TIME MAGAZINE-DUMPS War Mongers - Kristol & Krauthammer

Kristol, Krauthammer Are Out of Time
by John Koblin | December 18, 2007 | Tags: MediaBill KristolCharles Krauthammer
This article was published in the December 24, 2007, edition of The New York Observer.

After a Dramatic Departure, Post Names New City EditorTwo conservative Time magazine columnists are on their way out the door: Neither William Kristol nor longtime contributor Charles Krauthammer will be on contract with the magazine starting next month. Mr. Krauthammer confirmed the news to Off the Record, and a spokeswoman for Time said Mr. Kristol’s contract would not be renewed.

And according to two sources familiar with the discussions, Time is in negotiations with National Review editor Ramesh Ponnuru to sign him to a contributor contract. Mr. Ponnuru, who in 2006 published The Party of Death: The Democrats, the Media, the Courts, and the Disregard for Human Life, has written twice for the magazine over the past month.

The exact reasons for the departures of Mr. Krauthammer and Mr. Kristol, both high-profile backers of the Iraq war, are not entirely clear.

3. Oh, no way!
Were they finally wrong enough? Did their fatuous arguments in favor of more death and destruction reach the threshold of Time's revulsion? Have enough people died, has enough money been wasted, to at last expose them as the charlatans they are to Time's editors?

Or maybe they just priced themselves out of the market, and Ponnuru will be a death apologist for less?

4. Ramesh Ponnuru
Ramesh Ponnuru (born August 16, 1974) is a Washington, D.C.-based Indian American columnist and a senior editor for National Review magazine. He has also written for several other newspapers and publications, including The Weekly Standard, Policy Review, The New Republic and First Things.

Ponnuru was raised in Prairie Village, Kansas. He attended Briarwood Elementary School and Mission Valley Middle School in affluent Johnson County, Kansas. After graduating from Shawnee Mission East High School at the age of 15, he went to Princeton University, where he earned an B.A. in history and graduated summa cum laude. He is of Asian Indian descent and has converted to Roman Catholicism.<1>. He is married to April Ponnuru.<2>

A conservative pundit, Ponnuru has appeared in many public affairs and news interview programs. He is perhaps best known for his 2006 book, The Party of Death: The Democrats, the Media, the Courts, and the Disregard for Human Life, published by Regnery Publishing. In response to questions about and criticism of the provocative title, Ponnuru has explained in interviews that the term is intended to define a political movement that has taken over control of the Democratic Party through abortion and other death-related issues.<3>

7. A Catholic? = Time positioning itself for the Neo Pro-Life base?
Edited on Wed Dec-19-07 09:28 AM by patrice
That's actually the Old Original Pro-Life - Anti-War "movement" that Cardinal Bernardin defined. There's a whole bunch of Catholics out there who are suddenly getting their collective memory back about what Pro-Life ACTUALLY is.

Oh, and BTW, in order to be forgiven the Murder that they visited upon about a million innocent Iraqis, they are required to expiate what they did, ammend their ways in their behaviors = become more anti-War active. This is one of the reasons mainstream "Christianity" is turning on Catholicism.

Billy "William" KRISTOL, Dan QUAYLE's supposed brain---talk about effete and elite. The way he SNIFFS at Juan WILLIAMS and any other underling who dares to squeak out a view opposed to him.

And KRAUTHAMMER just exudes malevolance.

15. Despite the current political shift to BLUE....
Time Magazine chooses to loudly dismiss two warmongering, chickenhawk neocons and replace them with a pro-life jerk-off?

When MSA (main stream America) turns off the MSM (and it's happening) who the hell are they going to cry to?

Someone mentioned on another thread that the MSM has become fully invested in their role as partner in the neocon/corporate machine and now, I believe it. I don't understand it, but I believe it.

Even rats are smart enough to jump from a sinking ship, buy hey, these aren't rats. Flies? Mosquitoes? Locusts? Yeah, locusts: Ravenous, destructive, swarming and oblivious.

23. Big deal: They're just making a trade...
Not that the world isn't that much better off that Cabbagewhacker and Kookamonger have one less "mainstream" credential, but look who they're tying to replace them with: the guy who's moving NR further to the right.

My guess is that they expect Ponnuru to pull in the same set of readers, for less money.
