So, lemme see if I got this straight...

...for the first 24 hours after Benazir Bhutto's murder we were told she had been shot in the neck and chest (or thereabouts), just before the shooter blew himself up right beside her SUV. That essentially coincided with all the eyewitness reports of everyone who was there.

And then today they tell us, first, it was shrapnel in the head and not bullets, and second, it wasn't shrapnel after all and it wasn't bullets either, despite what the coroner said. No, no in fact, she died from a bump on the head. Like most people do, you know, when people fire a gun at their head from nearly point blank range just before detonating a bomb right beside them. Yeah, what with all those bullets flying and the devastating concussive power of the blast with all that shrapnel flying at hyper speed. She didn't die from all that. She died from hitting her head. The top of her head was sticking up through that sunroof maybe a foot and a half, two feet, and she fell back down through it, hitting her head on the way down (again, some 18 inches to two feet) on some stupid lever protuding around the sunroof opening...and that killed her.

It was an accident. Oops. She fell and hit her head. Al Qaida sent a suicide bomber to kill her, but a bump on the head ultimately did the trick.

Nothing more to see here.

Oh, and one more thing, she might have got elected and replaced Musharraf in a couple weeks if she hadn't bumped her head like that.

But, whatever you do, don't go connecting one thing with the other. Don't ask any questions, just believe the Brigadier General waving around the X-rays which prove there were no bullet wounds, and tossing around talk of Al Qaida intercepts and the name of the plotter mastemind. Believe the General, the guy who answers to the guy who took power in a coup a few years back. Heck, he wouldn't lie to us...would he?

Nothing wrong with putting a theory out there. Maybe it is fiction, but it's no more fictitious than hearing a Musharraf army general deliver the case closed verdict on the cause of her death.

If Bhutto was killed by an assassin's bullet, she's a martyr. If she hit her head, then her death was merely a tragic accident.

And "tragic accidents" aren't likely to unite the public against the Musharraff "democracy".

I read that a person must be buried withing 24 hours of death. To us, that seems to be a rapid buriel, but to them, it is normal.

Whether head trauma, a heart attack or a bullet were the scientific cause of death none would have happened had she not been attacked. Thus, she was murdered. I don't understand the ins and outs of martyrdom, but it just seems silly to quibble over the exact mode of her death.

Since the Doctor the previous day mentioned EXIT wounds of course there no bullets visible in the X-Ray.
