Hate to break it to you, but people want to hear about this stuff, like it or not. THere is a reason that People Magazine has a circulation of nearly 4 million issues and US Weekly has nearly 2 million, while Foreign Affairs Magazine has a circulation of 200,000 (mostly libraries, my guess).

No one forces anyone to buy People or US or to watch Entertainment Weekly or Hollywood Access or to buy supermarket tabloids. But they do. ANd they do so in numbers that dwarf the number of people who are watching the televised presidential debates.

Its not pretty, but blaming the media for giving people what they want is a waste of time in a free society.
