The snow has reached Greenville, SC.
The precip started an hour ago and the temp dropped from 40-F to 30-F (evaporation cooling). It's coming down pretty heavily now. Sleet and freezing rain forecast for later. I'm ready. Dr. D is in Chicago (pissed that she might be stuck there for another couple of days), but Nick-Nick and I are warm and cozy.

1. They're already scheduling delayed openings for schools here in
central NC. I'd love to see a snowflake or two, but the ice . . . not so much.

Stay warm and cozy.

3. It's probably the same storm we got here in Atlanta today...
I got a little more than an inch and it lasted about 2 1/2 - 3 hours. I'm staying home tonight because I'm sure the roads are going to freeze tonight, patches of "black ice" are very dangerous.

13. Fortunately, the roads didn't freeze.
I live in Woodstock and drove to work in Marietta in the morning with no problem. There was just some rain. And the temperature was above freezing, so there was no ice.

10. We are expecting that weather to reach Charlotte, NC
Edited on Wed Jan-16-08 10:17 PM by Greylyn58
sometime soon.

Since this storm is coming out of the south we will probably get pounded. I hope we get snow instead of ice because people here in Charlotte just can not drive in it.

I usually laugh at Texans whining about the "cold" but right now they speak the truth - it's cold here! Don't worry Mac, Mrs. Demotex will be home soon!

LOL Mac, whenever anyone starts talking those weather code words I am reminded of my long departed dad who was a USAF meteorologist. :)
