A caller to Washington Journal pointed this out. For all the new job creation that is touted by the * administration and the Rs, how much of it is truly not the result of expanding and supporting the military and defense industry?

1. The war spending is also propping up the economy.
Without it, the economic indicators would be even worse than they already are.

To answer your question, there is little doubt that a significant chunk of the new jobs are military/defense industry based.

3. I've long suspected that nearly all the "new" jobs were as soldiers, contractors, bullet-makers ...
undertakers, wheelchair manufacturers, etc.

IOW, I think virtually every job 'created' under Smirk is war-related and therefore subtracts from, rather than adds to, the national economy.

4. "How much humanity loses for all time forward?" for each bomb built should be the question.
Build a bomb, and you blow something up. You lose the cost of the bomb and whatever you blew up, maybe a multi-million dollar school.
Build a school, and you can educate 100s of children for 100 years.

"How much humanity loses for all time forward?" for each bomb built should be the question.

6. America's #1 industry
Weapons manufacture is the #1 industry in America, which is why America is in the business of starting wars anywhere it can. I posted on my diary why the powers-that-be want Edwards out of the race. It's all about the war.

8. The jobs created are not the type that benefits America.
Mercenaries do nothing to better America.

9. How many men/women have been removed from workforce?

Due to injuries, physical/psychological?

While it is true that the war machine has generated some jobs and money, the bigger question is where does most of the profits go? And what jobs are those working within the war machine not doing now? If they took unemployed and gave them employment, that is positive. Another question is is the country, the people, better off financially as a whole?
