47. This might have just given the nomination to Obama, as he could win NV now
then romp in SC right after that. Plus all Hillary managed to do was piss off the Hispanic vote and leaders like Durazo in LA big-time.

This is HUGE for Obama. He is ON A ROLL.

9. you are probably right. Since the party members had already
all agreed to the plan. Your only basis is that you have to assume what people will vote - which you can not - regardless of endorsements.

28. Quite a big risk to take, to try to suddenly hinder a large group of people
from caucusing long after the caucus rules had been approved of by all parties. Not sure Obama would have done it--he didn't have highly-placed allies in the state to mount a challenge, had he lost the endorsement. And Edwards didn't complain either--he may benefit also from not trying to play dirty pool.

Bad PR move creating a backlash PLUS it didn't even stop the casino caucus sites.

That was just a really dumb move.

Given our past pattern of picking weak nominees, I am not sure that is going to happen.

30. Yes it is. Clinton backers (teacher's union) tried to stop it - but
only once the culinary union endorsed Obama. (No dissent since March, I believe when the Dem party approved it).

It was pretty weak - I saw the teacher'sunion official on tv the other day - He was asked, "aren't teachers off on Sat? Why are you worried about them not being able to vote?" He admitted that was true and then brought up that it was the janitors that might be having to clean the schools on Sat 11-2.

15. Bill Clinton is not going to be pissed
In about 5 minutes the Clinton campaign will start sending surrogates claiming how proud they are of "their great victory in supporting the union movement which is what Hillary has been doing for 35 years as she prepares herself to be prepared on day one while she wasn't doing something bad during her teenage years"

way beyond the sympathetic spouse- he wants to be president
again - imho.

I wonder if it works the same as Iowa - with viability and the revote.
Or if the workers can just go vote quickly and back to work??

18. Oh, look. A legal court made a legal decision.
And the process continues.

Culinary Union workers can now caucus conveniently. Non-union culinary workers and other union shift workers? Not so much.

And the caucusing for Culinary Union workers ONLY now takes place within the context and pressure of the workplace which will certainly encourage independence of thought and decision.

But it's a great victory for democracy.

39. In Iowa he spoke about how Hillary (while still in law school)
laid the plans that eventually were passed through Congress and are now what is called the Individuals with Disabilities Education Plan. My child (being both a former public school attendee and a disabled individualt...oh and a Joe Biden supporter) found this fascinating - since Senator Biden had the privilege of co-sponsoring the bill in the Senate and of course voting on it. I don't think he was aware that Hillary Clinton was responsible for that law :eyes: Bill just make 'em up as he goes...

40. Hillary supporters have to ask themselves if the Culinary Workers
had supported their candidate, would the "teachers" have gone to court. The answer, of course, would be no. They had nearly a year to contest this, but since Hillary was made out to be the presumptive candidate, they didn't. The cookie has crumbled.
