Drunk dialing Dick Morris? How Hillary Clinton's top advisor got Dick behind him.
Edited on Fri Jan-18-08 10:26 AM by IdesOfOctober
"http://www.psbresearch.com/press_media_jul31-2007.htm">In the hands of longtime Clinton strategist Mark Penn, a poll is a deadly weapon. Following the commencement of hostilities between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton over the Illinois senator’s comment that he would enter into talks with rogue foreign leaders, for example, Mr. Penn quickly settled on the explanation that Mr. Obama was desperate."

********************************************

That fawning quote is from Penn, Schoen & Berland's very own website. PSB is the polling firm that Rove wannabe Mark Penn founded while still in college. It must really chap Penn's posterior parts that Rove has been so much better at it without the fancy degree. Not that the Palantir Pansy actually got into Harvard in the first place.

********************************************

"It was at Horace Mann that Mr. Penn first met Mr. Schoen, a short football player with a passion for Democratic politics. Under the tutelage of Dick Morris, then a young Columbia graduate, Mr. Schoen became one of the original 'West Side Kids' who helped install a new Democratic machine in Manhattan’s Upper West Side.

Mr. Penn eventually went to Harvard, but not without running a mini-campaign on his own behalf. Mr. Penn’s brother, Ronald, recalled in an interview with The Observer that after Harvard initially rejected his application, Mr. Penn took a train up to Boston to dispute the matter with the school’s dean, who explained that too many Horace Mann students had already been admitted. Mr. Penn, test scores in hand, argued his case, and a few weeks later received a letter of acceptance."

********************************************

His acceptance was anything but "inevitable." He whined and dined his way in. One wonders if he drunk dials his old mentor, Dick Morris, late at night when the chips are down.

"Dick Morris, who preceded Mr. Penn as Bill Clinton’s pollster before falling out of favor due to a sex scandal before the 1996 reelection, acknowledged Mr. Penn’s skill as a pollster and strategist, and said that he agrees with Mr. Penn’s assertion that Mrs. Clinton will be elected president on the basis of first-time female voters. (Mr. Morris also took credit for bringing Mr. Penn into the White House, a version of events that Mr. Schoen strongly disputes.)"

Ah, but does the crybaby who whined his way into Harvard still take Dick Morris's calls when the chips are down? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dick_Morris#Morris_and_Clinton">Bill Clinton sure did.

For those who were asking, "Who is Dick Morris?" - happy reading. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=morris+mark+penn+clinton">Wear hip waders to get through the Morrisy Muck and the Penny Puddles.

1. I am a John Edwards supporter but when I read crap like this ...I feel like
crossing the line and standing for Obama. The Clintons and their minions are just too Bush-like for me. Plus there was that vote on Iran ...

6. "Dickay, babay, this is Mark. Um, God, I hate voicemail. Er, Hillary wanted me to tell you..."
"... that she only body slams those she truly loves."

*****************************************************************
In his 1997 book Behind the Oval Office, Morris wrote that, following an argument in the Arkansas Governor's Mansion, he strode towards the exit and was tackled by Bill Clinton. In 2003, Morris further stated that Bill Clinton cocked his arm back to throw a punch, but Hillary Clinton pulled her husband off Morris. In both versions of the story, she consoled Morris and apologized to him, stating that Bill only behaved such with those he cared for most. According to Morris, she did this to keep him quiet about the incident. He says the incident was the reason for denying Bill Clinton's request to work on the '92 campaign; Clinton's side of the story is not known.
*****************************************************************

Maybe he's playing special teams for them again?

5. I think it would be hilarious if Dick produced a recent phone bill showing long calls with Penn.

If Hillary is elected this is what we will be dealing with for the next four years.
Why the Hillary crowd here wants to put us through this, I do not know.

3. That's unfair to Karl Rove. Look what he did, without whining his way into Harvard.

8. The fact that you would even post Dick Morris crap on DU
tells me that you have another agenda. Dick Morris was FIRED and has a grudge against the Clintons. He will do and say anything.

9. The fact that you would ignore that he was hired by the Clintons in the first place,
tells me all I need to know.

12. I know nothing about who hired him and for what. I only know
that when it was clear that he SUCKED they fired him immediately.

It is amazing to me that the Clintons cannot blink without being attacked: they blinked too soon, they should not blink, they should blink more, they took too long to blink, did you see that blink, they should apologize for that blink.

One of the candidates can do no wrong--no matter how much wrong he has done. And another candidate can do no right--and wrong is found in anything and everything and nothing.
