Why do the media pundits pander to Republicans and spit on Dems?
Edited on Thu Jan-24-08 01:24 PM by Cyrano
Tweety, Russert, Blitzer, MoDo, and so many other (supposedly non-conservative) pundits have no problem shredding our Democratic candidates because they know they can get away with it. They also know that if they badmouth Republican candidates, there will be a price to pay for it. Put simply, they fear Republicans and believe that the Dems are wusses.

And their fear of Republicans is justified. One of the first messages sent to the media by the Bush administration was not calling on Helen Thomas first at White House press conferences. Their attitude was: “Fuck tradition. Dis us and you’ll pay for it.”

But during the eight years they were dumping on the Clinton White House, there was never any payback.

Whichever Dem wins the White House, he or she must send a loud and clear message to our out-of-control MSM: “Treat both parties equally, or you damn well better start fearing us. Spit on us and you don’t get access. Dis us and you’re parent company will be cut off from all government contracts. Expose Republican corruption, or the IRS will be all over you for the next eight years.”

It’s past time for the Dems to level the playing field. And if fear is all that works, so be it. Do you have any better suggestions on how to accomplish this?

9. Depends. Sometimes it's money, sometimes it's the CIA.
The Washington Post, for example, was started by the Luce family, of Life Magazine fame. They have CIA connections.

In many other cases, people like Jack Welch pay their employees to agree with them. (See: Tim Russert)

than any right wing type. Who do you think gets more viewers, Stewart or O'Reilly?
