And has either Obama or Clinton proposed legislation that would restore our civil rights in the areas I mentioned? Not yet, although they are in the position to do so. And just watch, now that Edwards is out of the campaign, the Democrats in Congress will "cooperate" and pass telecom immunity and more warrantless wiretapping. They are just waiting until they can do it under the radar.

Leahy is in charge of the Judicial Committee, but has never investigated what happened to the investigation of the attempt on his own life via the mailing of anthrax. He's made of the same stuff as Clinton and Obama.

but it was not unthinkable 35 years ago. Nixon, of all people proposed it. It was killed because it was not seen as good enough then - even though it was comparable, or even to the "left" of anything proposed now. So we are still, as I see it further to the right as a nation than we were 35 years ago.
