4. We all WANT him to!
Otherwise, we'll have to force him to become Secretary of The Environment.

20. he never said he wasn't going to run...
He said he had "no plans" to run, but he left him self an opening. He wouldn't be teasing like this if he wasn't at least considering a run. There are a lot of donors who are holding their money to wait and see if he gets in, and I am sure if he was sure he wasn't going to run he would say it directly because he does not want to hold up other candidates fundraising efforts.

It was clear...good fun tho'.

Al rocks tonight and it is his night. Must be better than being a President to be appreciated. Presidents aren't appreciated very much in general. I admire anyone running these days.

12. I can't wait til he wins
With all due respect to Jesus Camp, which was very good as well, An Inconvenient Truth is a life-changing film in the direct sense of that definition.

I can't wait for Al to win - he's gonna get a standing ovation (from me at home as well) and I'll probably start to tear up.

18. QUIT WITH THE TEASING AL
RUN AL RUN...
:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I was stupid enough to buy it for a minute. I think this is a clue that he plans to run though. The Oscars would be an inappropriate place to announce imo, but I think he will be announcung soon :).

24. I believe, after tonight's "performance",
Al is planning a run. Could he otherwise, with a clear conscience, have toyed with the public? To lead the public on with no intention of actually running would be in very poor taste. If he had no intention I think he would have made that clear or would have said nothing at all.

I EXPECTED him to play with us when he started on that announcement! He and DiCaprio were both smiling walking off stage! I think they KNOW he's playing with us and is biding his time until it's right for him to announce! If DiCaprio knew he was playing with us WITHOUT intent to run, I think he'd not have been grinning so cunningly at that point.

DeCaprio has his own narrated short on Global Warming that plays a lot on Link TV, which I'm sure is partly what Al referred to when thanking him at the beginning of that segment and probably why DeCaprio was paired with him too. My bet is he wants Gore to run as much as any of us do!

I think they now are also licking their chop of sales picking up for his future campaign theme song too!

The only one that perhaps gave me a hint to the contrary was when George Clooney said something that was probably a bad attempt at a joke in his presentation speech for best supporting actress that he heard something about Al Gore not running or something to that effect. i don't think he got the effect he wanted, but it was hard to tell what he really wanted from that comment.

29. DiCaprio has also went across the country to give speeches on global warming
He came to my college in Minnesota to give a speech on the issue and to get people out to vote for Kerry, I didn't hear the speech because the room was packed and I wanted to allow others who may not already be surefire Kerry supporters the chance to hear him. What all my friends who heard him said however is that the guy was extremely knowledgeable on the issue. The only major celebrity who is more active on this issue than DiCaprio is Gore himself.

25. Gore ROCKED tonight!
Sure, I was disappointed with the psych out announcement-but I really didn't expect him or want him to announce his candidacy at the Academy Awards anyway. He kept the focus on Global Warming and that's the way it should be. O8)
