Jim Garrison interviewed by Johnny Carson in 1967
The mp3 came up on my computer randomly tonight. It's been a long time since I listened to it.

The very last thing that Garrison said to Johnny I found quite chilling. And I think it explains a lot about where we stand today.

Am I asking the people of America to believe this? I'm doing more than that! I am trying to tell the people of America that the honor of this country is at stake. And if we don't do something about this fraud, we will not survive. And there is no way to survive if we don't bring out the truth about the how our President was killed four years ago. And the investigation by the Warren Commission wasn't even close.

The entire interview, in which Johnny Carson sounds very skeptical of Jim Garrison, is about 46 minutes long (without commercials). Can you imagine? Forty-six minutes on a highly-popular entertainment program devoted to a deadly serious topic?

I don't remember where I found the mp3 files, but here are links to the interview, divided into two sections, in Real Audio format.

1. I actually saw that interview live.
And actually kept up with his investigation and trial.
But no matter, he was not able to overcome the power of the media to discredit it all and make us think he was just a nut case.
And just look where we are today because we did not wake up and see what was going on in our own country.
thanks for posting this

3. It's a fact the federal government sabotaged Garrison's
investigation. I'm thinking that they would only have done this if he was on to something. Garrison was on to the relationship between Clay Shaw and Oswald in New Orleans and if the trial had not been sabotaged he could have uncovered much of the conspiracy. It's clear Oswald was set up by the anti-Castro right wing group in New Orleans of which Clay Shaw and David Ferrie were members. A faction of the federal government was definitely involved in the conspiracy and it is a tragedy that this was able to be covered up.

5. Thank you Syrinx. How right Garrison was and is. Many of our leaders still deny this truth.
Not to mention a good number of Americans. However I think Americans need leadership that will address this issue head on. That we cannot continue to be silent on the assassination of our greatest leaders.

We will never have true leadership until we stand up for justice for those who were killed by the Republican extremists/Neoconservatives.

We will only have puppets or props really, like the ones who are running for president now.

And it hurts all of us to this day, including all those who deny the assaults on our best and brightest leaders.

I think that the term "conspiracy theorist" is actually part of "the conspiracy." "They" marginalize or demonize anyone who points out that the "big three four" assassinations of the 1960's were likely connected.

And maybe that the murder of John Lennon, and the attempt on Reagan's life, are also included. Maybe 9/11 too?

I don't know why the majority of people have such a hard time accepting the fact that some very bad people are running this world. Maybe because then they would have to admit they have a responsibility to do something about it?

This also reminds me of the scene in Oliver Stone's JFK where Garrison was interviewed on that talk show, and they cut him off repeatedly, mocked him, and would not air Garrison's pictures that supported his case. I was amazed that Stone actually got Garrison HIMSELF to play a small part in the movie.

Garrison - a true patriot - a truth seeker - a true American hero.

9. Carson is quite a one trick pony,
responding to every other thing that Garrison says with "but that's not fact, is it?"

Nevertheless, or perhaps because of that, he fails to sow doubt about Garrison's claims.

10. yeah
But I still miss Johnny. He was really funny.

Johnny was a Democrat, and I don't think he could accept that LBJ may've been in on the assassination.
