2. Did he just say that Crandall had been in the "Air Calvary"?
instead of cavalry? Is that some type of religious order?

4. ROFL
And what about the references lead up to Snake "..and a word we can't prononce here. heh-heh!" Refering to the man's penis in an obtuse way?

The whole thing is filled with * trying to be a comic.

6. I wish that one of those "reporters" would ask Chucklenuts
how many rescue missions he flew when he was in the Texas Air National Guard. Would just be a funny on a gray Monday. Would love to see Chucklenuts' face after that question, stutter around a bit and then order the Secret Service to get the guy. Of course, other reporters would have to throw down their pads and pens and try to save the hapless soul from Gitmo.

Chucklenuts talks about the horrors of war and he goes for the funny? Smirking, hee hee heeing, looks like a two-year old who makes a "joke" and then looks for the adults to laugh at him. Ack, gag, spit.

Shit, I hate this damn fool.

Edited on Mon Feb-26-07 02:45 PM by Whoa_Nelly
on edit: CNN's bad...I was reading the man's miitary title from the TV screen...they had him as MAJOR Crandall (was written that way in my subject line..ahve changed it.) Now, they have corrected it, and I also caught it in finding the article below.

Vietnam hero on film gets highest honor for valor

• Bruce Crandall and wingman rescued 70 wounded soldiers from Vietnam battle
• Crandall had to switch helicopters several times during battle because of damage
• Story told in "We Were Soldiers Once ... and Young" and film "We Were Soldiers"
By Larry Shaughnessy

(CNN) -- Lt. Col. Bruce Crandall's heroics in Vietnam were immortalized in a movie and a critically acclaimed book.

More than 40 years after Crandall repeatedly risked his life to rescue American soldiers fighting one of the toughest battles of the Vietnam War, the U.S. military officially will recognize his heroism Monday, when he is awarded the Medal of Honor, the nation's highest award for military valor.

Although it took more than four decades for the military to honor Crandall, he considers himself fortunate.

"Most people get after they are dead, so I'm one of the lucky ones," said Crandall, 74, who lives in retirement with his wife, Arlene, in Manchester, Washington.

Good for Crandall. And the heroes of today? Where and when are they going to be publically lauded (and abused for the photo-op) by * ?

12. Only two MoH have been awarded for Iraq even though it has been a longer war for us than WW2.
Edited on Mon Feb-26-07 03:01 PM by grytpype
464 MoH were awarded for WW2.

Both of the Iraq MoHs were awarded to persons who were killed in action.

9. Bush presenting a medal of honor is like ........? You can fill in it
I'll go first.

Bush presenting a medal of honor for combat heroism is like Yogi Berra presenting the Nobel Prize for Literature.

15. He was on live earlier this morning with something about energy
and conservation. Same-old same-old about clean coal and switchgrass interspersed with a lot of oughta's and should's. I'm sure he was trying to suck the oxygen out of Gore's successful calling of attention to global warming.
