If I were Dick Cheney I'd be getting very very nervous.
Is someone out to eliminate Dick Cheney?

First his plane runs into engine trouble, now the Taliban almost blows him up in Afghanistan. Aside from the fact that he's probably the most hated man in the world, it's almost sounding like someone has decided that it's time for a nice big Vice Presidential funeral with all the trimmings. Maybe someone who feels that Cheney has caused him more grief than he's worth. Maybe someone who thinks that without Deadeye out there he might be able to recover something of his legacy. Maybe someone who would like to choose his successor? Maybe someone who'd like a good reason to attack Iran?

Hey, I'm not accusing anyone of anything, if "someone" has decided to eliminate the Vice President he's not doing a very good job of it--more like "The Gang that Couldn't Shoot Straight" than "The Sopranos". Oh, yeah, that fits too.

Keep your head down Dick, and get someone to test your food. Mary's baby's gonna need her PopPop.

1. That thought ran through my head just a few minutes ago, bklyncowgirl,
when I read the thread about the latest news reports.

Now who could be out to get ol'Deadeye, eh?

In most mysteries, it's the one you LEAST suspect that's the prep. So I'd have to say someone ought to keep an eye on Pickles. Here's why:

Her comment on Larry King; re "one bombing per day". Freudian slip maybe?

And as to her motive, well just look at the VP's residence drapes. Make a lovely pantsuit. Hey, people have been whacked for less.

Nope, forget Dumbo as a suspect. I suggest we check out his wife #1 (Condi being wife #2), after all she did do in her ex-boyfriend.

The tip-off will be if she offers Cheney a lift back home after some WH meeting. That's her backup plan, for sure.

2. Someone must be thinking "Three will be a charm"
With all roads leading to Cheney in the Scooter Libby trial, one can't help but wonder.

3. Quite the contrary
I think Bush should be grateful that Cheney didn't send him on this trip. Only reason Cheney went his self instead of sending Bush is Cheney wanted it done right.

Another inside job. One of the many advantages of being a puppet MASTER is that you get to pull most of the strings, from anywhere to everywhere.

11. It did wonders for Reagan. hmmm
Maybe they're not REALLY trying to take him out. Of course if he sort of accidently croaks, it's no great loss and they get to throw a really cool funeral.

(cheney, rumsfeld, powell, rice, bush 1&2, saudi king & secret services are
sitting round the table shooting the shit in july 2001.)

Cheney: "Wouldn't it be great if we could steal all the world's oil and wipe
out those wall street bankers who think they own everything all in one shot, and
get a pearl harbor like event so we can rule by edict."

Rumsfeld: "Hey, I got just the thing for that.
My demolitions guys have a new kind of device that will do just that,
it'll wipe out every hard drive in downtown manhattan, and they won't be able to
do shit about it."

HWB: "No, don't do something that large rummy. Just ghost the saudi team
and keep the damage to silverstein's area where the demo team has unlimited
access."

Cheney: "I want all those wall street fucks cut down, make sure that the
pentagon finance office gets it too, we'll only get one shot at this."

King fahd: "The team says pick a day."

GWB: "Tuesday, we have to shut down the dot com investigations or my backers
will be outed and we'll lose billions, make sure all those records are there.
The fix protocol is having a trade show that day, this'll shut down those communists."

King fahd: "I want my gulf enemies, iraq and iran destroyed for this."

HWB: "Don't worry, we'll all get what we want out of this, "I" want saddam's
head on a pole."

Cheney: "Each of you will get as much business as we can throw your way after
this thing, quite possibly, all computer records in new york will be destroyed,
and martial law may be necessary."

Rumsfeld: "The guys at fort detrich are ready to shut up all our problems
with a very neat solution for any loose mouths afterwards."

GWB: "I want to rule by edict."

HWB: "Don't worry, sonny, i'll get you that."

GWB: "OK, we're go on tuesday 11 september at 9am, get out in public if you
can, so nobody will suspect you and i'll be up in the air with the football
to handle the aftermath. The russians'll be cool about it, look what it
did for putin, if only we had the kind of press controls he's got in russia."

I'll try to act like a toddler who has to go to the bathroom, but secretly I'll be planning the Fourth Reich. Who's with me?"

Cheney: "Hail Bush!"

Rumsfeld: (speaking in tongues)
