Not Feeling A Whole Lot Of Joy About This Election
Funny, I used to be addicted to presidential politics. This time around it is all local for me. Defeating David Drier here in the fabulous San Gabriel Valley is about as national as my enthusiasm gets. Great city election where I live. Attended a fundraiser yesterday, and I loved every minute. Did you know that California has two props on the ballot this fall that will end the terrorism of Eminent Domain BIA/SCAG home seizures? Now THAT is something to get worked up about.

My entire donation to presidential candidates this time? $50 to John Edwards. At least I'm saving money.

Am I alone in this? As far as the Hillary vs Barack thing goes, it's like we're eating our own. I'll vote for whoever wins, but do I really care all that much? No. Am I so caught up in the presidential thing that I tear through the internet like I used to, ravenously digging out new information wherever I can?

No, I don't.

2. I am only sending money to local Dems...other than that, I'm out.
They both, and their supporters (not all, but a lot) have sickened me this time.

3. Find your way to an Obama field office in a battleground state...
You'll start believing again ~ I'm volunteering at one in PA and it's wonderful how motivated and enthusiastic people are. All ages. All colors. All socio-economic groups. Both parties and indies working together. I've been an activist for 30+ years and have worked on many campaigns ~ but I've never seen anything like this.

4. I'm right there with you. I really do think the Dems have shot
themselves in the foot and we'll be doomed with a McCain win. As for Drier, I cringe everytime that asshole leaves a message on my phone. I didn't know about the props here in CA coming up in the fall, but I will damned sure look out for them. That's one reason I love CA so much; we try to show the rest of the country how it should be done - we don't always get ir right, but we do try. I, like you, have donated to the Edwards campaign and don't really care who wins the nomination between Hillary and Obama.
