3. I believe the Lt. Governor takes over. He would be the first African American
governor of NY.

5. I think he will also be the first legally blind governor in the country
BTW, that's not a criticism, if anything I think that's a positive move to ensure our states are providing equal rights to those who are disable. I also think it's a thrill to say that even blind, a person can do anything - even be governor of a state.

7. Yes, the Lt Gov takes over.
David Paterson. He knows the government well, he was the Senate minority leader. Amazing person in his own right, he is blind from birth. I think he's from Brooklyn. He's black so this will be our first black governor.

14. There is no special election..
Edited on Tue Mar-11-08 11:03 AM by kirby
The Lt Gov takes over and NO ONE replaces the Lt Gov. Instead the Repug leader of the Senate will act as Lt Gov (and take over Gov is something happened to the new gov or if the new Gov is unable to perform his/her duties)

15. Thanks for the information
This is sad for Spitzer, but great to know that a blind black man has the chance to show New York what an able governor he will be.

8. Jeebus forgave him - so it doesn't count anymore
I was hoping that Spitzer would stay but I think this shows what a class act he is compared to the slime in the republican party.

11. I agree Spitzer should resign
What he did was illegal (unlike what Clinton and Monica did).

But what Vitter did was illegal too.

We can argue that prostitution shouldn't be illegal, but it is in the states where Vitter and Spitzer were.

13. Accordingly to the trolls, Vitter & Spitzer are two different stories.
Vitter is saint like while Spitzer is Evil. Spitzer was upsetting the unstable economy.

And we all know how good junior is at being very careful, and with thrifty management of resources, such as money, materials, or labor: What comes to mind is FISA, Whores, Karl Rove, Haliburton and the Mariana Islands run by Tom DeLay and Jack Abramoff.

junior has said his poll numbers will be going up, remember?

18. Did Vitter commit a felony?
I'm honestly asking because I don't know (I think he just slept with a hooker). And I'm not crazy about taking our cues from the puke party.
