haven't gotten that far yet. They are dong some procedural stuff now. Rep Price introduced a resolution as a point of privilege and Hoyer is trying to stop it. They are voting on the point of privilege now.

4. Good. Let them do nothing. They can all go home and stay there. We will elect a real house of
Representatives in November. Then all the whinny GOP can stay home and plot their revenge.

13. Pelosi and Hoyer
wanted to work on FISA on Thursday but the Reptilians want to do it NOW, so it looks like they are putting on another dog and pony show to try and get their way. Kind of like holding their breath until they turn blue, LOL.

9. Dems need a veto proof house and senate to stop a rogue president. Congress has the gold and they
can make 100% of the rules, thats the real Golden Rule.

15. Will Anybody Really Notice A Difference?
Do those people actually do anything anyways?

I'm sure he'll let the House reconvene, when the time comes to vote themselves pay raises or some other perk.

Seriously....why should I care if it's shut down? They don't do anything in Congress which matters to us anyways.

the building. So put on your walkin' shoes, boy!

Edited on Tue Mar-11-08 04:10 PM by Hand
(Where smoking is still permitted, BTW!) Actually, he needs to step out for several smokes--maybe a pack or two, chain-smoked REALLY QUICKLY!

ON EDIT: My mistake; Pelosi banned smoking there:rofl:. Gues he'll have to go outside.

20. I think the fact that they're VERY VERY VERY emotionally invested in this should raise
eyebrows.

What, precisely, are they trying so hard to hide? Hmmmmmmmmmmm?

I don't for a second believe it's about "protecting the telecom companies from expensive lawsuits".

accept that they no longer have the Majority and have committed themselves to disrupting and obstructing to make the Dem's look as bad as they can. Its desperation to the max. The House is working on overriding Bu$h's veto on torture, I guess that's why they wanted a distraction, to keep the override from coming to a vote.

Shut it down until Jan. 20, 2009. That way these clowns can't do anymore damage until the sane adults are in charge.

Boehner is a bonehead.

34. Did Boehner forget that he's in the House and not the Senate?
You can't shut the House down because everything is done by majority vote and there is no unlimited debate. But if he wants to try, he's certainly welcome too.
