is taking all the air out of a potentially big day for Obama? I mean it's sex scandal all day-day on MSNBC. Hardly any mention of the Mississippi primary...it will blunt more bad news for the Clinton campaign-but if it were the other way around it would be all about her new momentum....
"a win is a win"? it's a sports vernacular say a football team squeaks out an ugly win after getting their ass kicked all day and then kicks a last second FG to win it-we then say oh well a win is a win and it counts just as much as a blowout in the standings
The reports say that it was the banks that originally contacted the FBI, because of some big and out of the ordinary funds transfers to dummy companies that Spitzer was using to try and put some distance between himself and the hooker ring.
The first instinct of any FBI investigator with a high profile public official moving money through non-existent companies is bribery or other political shenanigans. That's how the FBI got the wiretap warrants they used to pin him down, based on a judge's review of the funds activity. So money laundering isn't that far off as a possible accusation.
That's my guess as to why he hasn't resigned yet. Resignation is a big bargaining chip with the Feds. e.g. "I'll resign and you make these charges go away."
The irony of the deal is Spitzer was a huge fan of wiretaps for investigations when he was AG for NYS.
6. I bet it fits in with our 'new' DOJ Bush has up and running.
I did hear some thing about the IRA looking into Obama's church and if I re-call things like that were not done when Bush was getting all these Churches to back him. Me thinks that the DOJ is now just where the GOP wants it. Hold on to your hats the general election should be fun.
If you don't think there's manipulation throughout the market, look at today. Oil hits a new record, but Spitzer's on the stake. Market up over 300. Go figure.
