Try 'googling' the word Yiddish. Search the "images." You will find the images really aren't the problem, but rather the suggestion for other the "also try" section. Any guesses? No peeking.....

Anyway, it makes no sense. Firstly, only Ashkenazi Jews, my father's people speak/spoke Yiddish, so why would Google link those 2 together? I suppose the holocaust victims were mostly the Ashkenaz, but there were Sephardic Jews in the Ghetto in Venice, so I'm sure some of them ended up in the camps...

Whatever, it just creeps me out. Gotta go now.

Just for shits and giggles, I ran a search on "Ladino" to see if something similar would happen and it didn't. Even, "Hebrew" and "Jew" and "Jewish" didn't even produce the nasty "zyklon B" comment. Very odd.

18. I didn't get anything nasty..

just a link to the Yiddish Book Center; a definition of Yiddish from a Jewish website; an advert for translation software from Yiddish; a link to 'Yiddish Voice'; etc. When I clicked on the images, I got a picture of a Yiddish Bible, Yiddish alphabet, Yiddish books and cartoons, etc.

Perhaps the UK version of Google hasn't been affected; or maybe Google was alerted to the fact that someone had linked to vile images, and deleted the links. Hope so! If the image you saw is what it sounds like, then it's truly evil.

It means it was taken care of! It wasn't at the "links" part, it was when you clicked on the "images" link. However, I did check it again and it has been removed.
