I know this is a copycat, but I'd really like to know. Guys, if you had five bills burning a hole in your pocket, would you spend it on ONE hooker?

Assuming I frequented prostitutes in the first place (I never did--no interest in that) if I was going to spend $5500 on hookers it would be like nine or ten of them. You can buy a used car for that much money, which I'd probably do.

Peter Gibbons: What would you do if you had a million dollars?
Lawrence: I'll tell you what I'd do, man: two chicks at the same time, man.
Peter Gibbons: That's it? If you had a million dollars, you'd do two chicks at the same time?
Lawrence: Damn straight. I always wanted to do that, man. And I think if I were a millionaire I could hook that up, too; 'cause chicks dig dudes with money.
Peter Gibbons: Well, not all chicks.
Lawrence: Well, the type of chicks that'd double up on a dude like me do.
Peter Gibbons: Good point.

15. The Concept Of Money
For the vast majority of us $5gs is not just a lot of money, but probably more money than we've seen in one place at one time. We're lucky to have $15 in our pockets and I'm finding it interesting reading what others would do with the money.

The other side of the "coin" here is how cavaliere one must be to whip out (literally) that kind of money, plus the hotel and the transportation and the room service, and not even blink an eye. How one can think that "there's more where that came from" or can turn around and make 10 times that amount and this is his "reward" for bringing home the bacon. It just opens the door a bit into the self-indulgent society we have and the lengths some with the resources will go to find a thrill.

Instead of a hypothetical, I'll give you a practical. If and when I get my booooshie tax cut bribe, I plan to donate it to Democratic Congressional candidates to build a bigger and stronger majority.

then spend $50 for a tank of gas to drive up the hot springs to take first a long hike deep in the canyons where I would offer tobacco, and then soak in the sacred mineral waters bubbling up from the heart of Mother Earth, where I would offer cornmeal that I might be renewed in her forgiving, embracing warmth.

50. You can bury it in the back yard if you'd like
And then, five weeks before the election, you can use it to buy most of a tank of gas.

(For the two weeks before the election, the price will drop to $1/gallon, and the talking heads will marvel about how Republican "leadership" caused the price of gas to plummet $93 in one day--neatly avoiding the obvious question of how the price of gas managed to climb $92/gallon under eight years of said "leadership.")

29. A few things.
First I would buy myself the best 32inch LCD for my 'guy area' in the basement that I could find for my only real hobby which is gaming. I've been waiting for years to get a decent TV.

Second I would buy my wife the over the stove top microwave she has been wanting.

Third would take the remainder and put it towards the kids college.

It's almost as though they tend to come from a different class of people, who might have trouble representing our interests.

Hey, I was a Spitzer fan, but what the hell could a guy addicted to $5,000 hookers ever be expected to do for me and my family?

48. Power leads to unflappable arrogance.
He didn't think he could get caught. Something happens to people when they get into high office, and it isn't good. $5500 could do a hell of a lot for charity, for a homeless shelter...and here's an elected official married to a beautiful woman spending it on a hooker. He deserves to be humiliated.

I'd stock up the refrigerator and pantry. Catch up on all my bills. By some furniture accents for my bedroom (it looks spartan, despite a full bedroom set and a floor covered in clothes). A few DVD's-- I still want Schindler's List for my modest move collection. Probably take my mom out to a really nice dinner and a movie.

Oh!! I'd buy a bottle of absinthe! Never tried it-- it's legal now, though a bit expensive ($65.00 for a bottle). That might be fun...?

The rest would stay in my checking account.

Yeah, yeah-- I'm boring. But to me, $5500 is a frikkin' windfall, and I wouldn't want to blow it (no pun intended) on things I'd kick myself for later.
