See the following thread, especially Post 8:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x3023063

Can anyone still find the earlier NYT story at this link

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/18/world/middleeast/18iraq.html?hp

which covered Cheney's visit as an effort to get oil privatization? Or is this how the "memory hole" works? (Go to the above thread for quotes from the original article and its replacement.)

2. That's it, but...

This has the full text of the old story, yes - THANKS!

But the idea that the suicide attack would lead the Times to kill a separate story about Cheney's visit and oil privatization is unsettling, to say the least.

3. Really? You trust them after they sat on a story for a year
DIRECTLY FOR the Executive Branch? Our M$M at work people, they get paid to defend Republicans as much as they can in the news. And that ain't easy with shitbags like DeLay or take your pick.

They are delusional and believe The People actually believe what they say and do. The NYT is no exception.

5. Oh, I've always trusted them to lie...
but not to expunge their stories by the minute, so that we can't even keep track of the lies.

6. I honestly believe that is their agenda, to get us to the point we can't
keep track of all the lies. Don't you think that would be an agenda the M$M would get on board with people like Cheney or Rove?

4. Plenty here:

"The Iraqis do not yet have a law for sharing the nation's oil wealth among the Shiites, Sunnis and Kurds, a law that the Bush administration believes will trigger multinational energy companies to invest in exploration and production in Iraq."
