7. He's been out of the loop for 8 years.
Been doing his own thing.

Opposed the war from the start.

Does really "want" to run.

No wonder they are scared of him.

I'm for Hillary ... but I'll back Gore in a heart beat.

After watching Gore at the Oscars and seeing him on TV promoting his film .... both he and his finance think that they would vote for him now. They didn't vote in 2000, but he said that Gore seems to have stepped back and now is showing himself as a real person.

87. Nixon did absolutely nothing for the country or the world in the interim, either.
He was also the same sorry sonofabitch when he ran again, as he was the first time.

Gore has always been a decent, honorable man. I cringed to hear the media discussing his clothes as a measure of his qualifications as a candidate. Seriously, WTF. But now just look at him. I mean, my gawd, just look at him. He almost glows with self-confidence, and yet projects humility. Nor did he spend the last 6 years sitting at home and whining about the bastards in the GOP. He continued with his passion despite the most crushing political betrayal in recent history.

If the president reflects our best hopes for this country, Gore is the man.

16. They have wanted to run against Hill since she first ran for Senate...

I don't think anyone stirs up their base like a Clinton.

Obama they think they can beat because of his name, race, and experience (or lack of it).

Edwards... I don't know what they think of him, only they don't appear to be afraid of him.

Same goes for Clark.

Gore scares the piss out of them, especially the "new Al" (the not so stiff and wonkish Al)... and he did beat their then "golden boy" GWB in 2000, now, 7 years later, everyone (including just a whole bunch of repukes) wish they had allowed him to take the oath of office instead of the moran they foisted off on the US.

25. You gotta be kidding
Clark would have beaten them in 04 in their strong suit security. Now he would run victory laps around them and beat them in double figures. That's why they tried to smear him last time, spread the meme that he wasn't Democratic enough and that is why most of the Main Stream Media ignored him, even when he was tied with Dean for the lead in the polls.

Gore/Clark....not only an unbeatable ticket....but a ticket composed of two great AMericans who put serving their country ahead of politics. What a change from what we have endured for 6+ years.

31. I'm not saying that they will beat any of the Dem candidates.
Just they don't appear to be that afraid of some of them.

For example, while I don't watch Fox at all anymore, I don't hear about them "swift-boating" Clark these days, unlike Al Gore this week, Obama the few weeks before (you KNOW he attended a Madrassa, right? and his middle name is Hussein!).

Whereas they constantly portray Hillary as the front runner and default Dem presidential candidate, and have since 2000, basically.

They polled him once against * and he won - it was the last time such a poll was done (or published).
On Edwards, they wait to spring his war support (sponsoring IWR) on him in the general election.

89. Back when they were promoting Their Guy, GWB, in 2000
they said Gore was "wooden." Course, Gore had developed the equivalent of a nervous tic, because he was constantly getting hammered with various RW memes, and he might have been confused, thinking there was a free press of some sort. We can look back on the media's track record and see them for what they are: propagandists. And George is their guy. Don't let them forget that they helped elect an unqualified and otherwise unelectable candidate, they played a leading role in his terrorizing of the American people, and they aided and abetted his crowning achievement - his war in Iraq.

86. Things never looked better?!! There's a huge fucking mess to clean up! Why should Gore want
Bush and cronies have ruined the country, the environment, our future, world opinion of America -- and now we can see that the economy is crashing. Do you think Gore is enthusiastic about trying to clean to try to clean up this impossible mess? I trust Gore is aware of these things and has become disheartened. There is a disheartened energy in him that was never there before the past six years. Only part of it was the stolen election -- the man can see what is happening to the planet. His book Earth in the Balance shows he is a visionary.

I'm sure he must be freaked out about the environmental collapses now being seen worldwide -- these are massive collapses that signal larger ones to come. The air is so toxic now that every time the temperature reaches dew point, the toxins collect in the lower atmosphere and we breathe it in -- as do all the critters on earth. This has been occurring over the past two years as people all over the U.S. who are sensitized to neurotoxins are noticing that they get sick every damned time dew point occurs. Massive die-offs of bees (see yesterday's N.Y. Times article about the "mysterious" disappearance of half of commercial bees)tells only part of the story. These problems affect everyone on earth. I like the fact that N.Y. Times stated that every third bite of food we take in depends on bee pollination--but dislike the fact that it refuses to investigate the role of toxicants -- to which bees are notoriously sensitive.

The oceans are collapsing with enormous pockets of what is being described as "devolution" -- where the only thing that can survive are primitive jellyfish which are thriving in huge numbers. The massive die-offs of frogs and toads have never been seen before either. The press rarely reports on these problems. Recently several biologists went public on NPR discussing the scale of amphibian die-offs as being "huge" and "beyond comprehension".

But we are numb and stupid to all of the damage because we're being purposefully kept in the dark by the corporate media and big money.

Sure. Gore must really be enthusiastic :sarcasm: about coming in to clean up this impossible fucking mess.

I love Gore -- but realize that he would be sacrificed under the weight of this burden. We are in a state of extreme emergency -- all lights are blinking red. It must terrify Gore, and I don't blame him at all for not running for president.

Bush and cronies have ruined the United States. They should be taken to court for every crime they have committed and hanged publicly. We can have a brief moment of joy before we all sink into this fetid wasteland they've created.

40. Call MSNBC Now!
A segment just aired on the show Tucker spreading the Drudge/Tennesse Center story. This show re-airs at 6PM. Call MSNBC now and demand that they cut this segment from the repeat.

Be sure to make the following points:

1 - The Tennessee Center offered no proof of their accusations. Carlson treated them as if they were true without proof.

2- They failed to address that Gore's home is powered by Green Switch.

3-The only guest on to comment was Fred Smith of the Competitive Enterprise Institute which is a Exxon funded think tank. No spokesman for the other side was featured.

Call MSNBC now at (201) 583-5000.

lives from the looming catastrophe of global warming inspires so much fear.

A micro ism if you will, of the attorney representing Bush in Bush vs Gore who would then go on to lose his wife on an airplane during 9/11. Had Al Gore been President, he would have paid attention to the warning signs of a pending terrorist attack and the 9/11 attack may have been avoided.

42. They are scared alright.
They have their complicit media repeating all the proper talking points today. And the clueless sheeple have half of my message boards buzzin' about it as well. They are literally foaming at the mouth at having "caught" Al Gore, and are way too fucking stupid to understand a concept like carbon neutral. They seem desperate, don't they?

92. They've recovered from the shock of finding out how wrong the were about Iraq
and have decided to do the freeperly thing: blame the liberals. The circus ringmasters are whipping them back up to outrage so they can avoid the discomfort of realizing how tragic the GOP's polices have been.

Damned environmentalists, Socialists, feminists, tree-huggers, commies, war protesters, homos, welfare queens, liberals, bureaucrats, atheists, Muslims, ragheads...They're the cause of all the trouble...They're the ones making policy in Washington. Yah, that's right. It's those damned people who want health care who are ruining the country!

60. You can bet your bottom dollar the Rovian Talking Points Fax Machine was cranked up overnight
rolling out the talking points to be destributed to the various junior Goebbels.

I think they think, that if they can gin up enough anti-Gore sentiment, he'll get discouraged and stay out of the race.

Because if he runs, he'll bury them.

76. Mostly they're scared of his respectability.
The RW noise machine spent so much time and money portraying Al as "crazy". America never really believed that, but enough of them did to make 2000 close.

That's evaporated now, so the RW noise machine's best hope is to portray him as a hypocrite.

I'd like to think it would fail, but then I thought there was no way in hell they'd manage to make the Swiftboat smears stick to John Kerry, and somehow they did.

84. They exhausted all their ammunition against Gore in 2000
And the worst things they had to say have all turned out to be lies and GROSS exaggerations.

Daily Howler is THE source for exposing the NUMEROUS lies, smears and outright fabrications of what passes for a "free press" in America

I think even the pundit press would be loathe to repeat that shameful performance again in '08.

85. I hope he gets the Nobel Peace Prize
That would really scare the shit out of them and give him a lock on the white house. Whether he's officially in or not, the presidency is his to lose. No other candidate from either party has that. No one is as squeaky clean as our Al Gore. There are no skeletons in his closet because he really is a good guy.

97. This is the game: We talk honestly about the weaknesses of our political opponents, and they
make up lies about our strengths. Sadly this is a method used over the last 6 years to great effect. They go at an opponents strengths, with lies. Ask Kerry, Murtha, Gore, Pelosi, Dean, Wilson, Obama, etc.

Reprehensible.
