14. Oh, I agree! I'm totally into natural.
Don't get me wrong! I meant that the general public- the ones that think natural methods/medicine is some kind of snake oil-those are the ones- who will continue to use those OTC sleeping pills", and they'll want more!!!

5. I am actually thinking of going into the solar and wind power
business. House construction is down, but people will be looking for alternative energy sources.

12. That's a really exciting market, with huge possibilities.
But its about more than the basics. Everybody is thinking about the basics, solar and wind power generation, but the facts seem to show that that solar is about to make huge research breakthoughs in price and efficiency via nanotech, and wind tech has a lot of room for improvement in cost and efficiency. I think the best sectors to be in are in energy efficiency, and transition to electric systems from fossil fuels. In transport little electric cars like these are moving closer to a pricepoint where they will become viable.

and will get people around at 1/15th the cost of gas, just on our current electricity. This will spawn a whole range of services specific to this type of vehicle. Also, there is a lot of super efficient incredible motor technology that exists, but isn't at the right price point due to manufacturing costs. Like these

Brilliant design in these little magnetic engines, which harness breaking power with 80% efficiency at the same time.

Anyway, sorry to rant but its exciting to me. This market is going to be huge, and there's going to be a lot of money to made, especially in the fringe areas where nobody else is looking right now.

6. There has been one suicide...
Edited on Mon Mar-17-08 05:49 PM by Tandalayo_Scheisskop
And a depressing number of attempted suicides in the Northampton/Lehigh/Monroe counties of PA, over the last week or so. Also, a significant uptick of Heroin overdoses by young people in the adjoining area of NJ. I have a police scanner and have heard them all, as I have a good antenna on a tall building and a well-programmed scanner. Many women amongst those numbers.

The local papers have a policy of not reporting these things, if they take place in the person's home and they are not found outdoors, away from home.

I might add that drunk driving busts are up.

All in all, I would say that the one-fodder-units are now feeling it and certain social fabric threads are starting to fail.
