Will any in the media pick up on McCain's huge national security gaffe today?
or will it be all Obama and Wright?

I was not online today, but didn't see this in GD on the first page...

McCain, according to Colin McEnroe of WTIC AM 1080, made several comments on Iran arming Al Qaeda in Iraq. He continued about Iran & Al Qaeda until his "man date" Joe Lieberman whispered in his ear and McCain then suddenly switched to saying Iran was arming extremists in Iraq. (Man Date was McEnroe's wording... said it was a realy "Ron & Nancy" type moment)

But, this is a guy whose sole claim to fame is his national security/defense credentials, but he doesn't know that Iran ain't the ones arming Al Qaeda?

3. I would think Olbermann will bring it up
it's really a huge gaffe if you think about it - it's almost like Ford saying there is no Soviet domination of eastern Europe.

4. Well, I watched the network evening news
ABC and CBS. Didn't hear a peep, although to be fair, they could have briefly mentioned it while I was in the bathroom or something.

5. Doesn't give too much credit to McCain's foreign policy experience!
I think this is great! Love it when pubs show their weaknessness, when they are trying to show their strengths!

Bring it on! Obama and the Dems are looking better and better!

don't understand the distinction between Al Quaeda being Sunni and Iran being Shiite, and that the different sects have been enemies for centuries. GE wants to keep everyone ignorant of that important difference.

11. The video of his statement was much worse than reading/ hearing about it.
It should be used as a campaign ad in the general election, along with his other moronic statements including the one about not knowing much about economics, the one about being in Iraq for 100 years, the one about how there will be other wars, and maybe end with a video of his hit tune "Bomb, bomb, bomb. Bomb, bomb Iran."

If McCain does not understand by now that al Qaeda is Sunni and Iran is Shiite, and that it has been the SAUDIS who are financing and arming al Qaeda, he's not qualified to be dogcatcher.

13. They've played the clip, but it's not getting much coverage overall.
Joe Lieberbush in the role of Nancy Reagan. That's all I could think of. President Reagan was probably in the early stages of Alzheimer's when Nancy would stand behind him and give him cues. McCain, in his "visit the war zone" getup, looks oddly like a guy at a retirement home on the way to basket making class.

15. This proves McCain is senile or at least an idiot
Mr. Foreign Policy expert needs his "man date" to correct him on this. Okay, I'm just your average 32 year old stay-at-home mother of 2 little girls. Yeah, I went to college for 4 years and have a degree. Still, I'm not an "expert" like Mr. Grumpypants. And even I know that Iran has absolutely nothing to do with Al Qaeda. If anything, they are the direct enemy of them as Shiites dominate the population of Iran and are the rivals of the Sunnis in Iraq. Thus, Al Qaeda tries to draw in Sunnis to fight the Shiites in Iraq. The United States is currently bribing many Sunnis with weapons and money and allowing them to fight as the "Awakening" while we also help aid the Iraqi National Police who are all Shiite. The minute we no longer "bribe" either side they will return to their civil war. In many ways the signs are there that bribing both sides may not even be enough. So much for the "surge". Progress my ass! There is no real progress. There is merely two sides armed to the hilt. One side targets the Mahdi Army even though many in the National Police were formerly part of it. The other side targets members of the Sahwa who work for Al Qaeda, who are Sunni and many of whom now work for the Awakening. I figured this out just by reading some news articles online and in magazines. McCain has been in politics since 1982 and he can't figure this out?

16. Colin's the best.
When (not if) Rachel Maddow gets her own show on MSNBC, I hope they try to get Colin as a co-host. It'd be the most intelligent political hour on television, and pretty damn funny too.

20. One of McCain's ministers
that was invited on stage with McCain recently, said that the Pope & Catholics are the Anti-Christ and that Catholicism is false idol worship.

And, he said that Jews are responsible for their own persecution.

Haven't heard much about it, though.

He's a crazy old coot, wouldn't be able to remember his own name by the time he finished a first term.
