Just a small anecdote from this weekend....
My wife is very well known in our area as an expert on a certain pet. She gives assistance to area vets when it comes to this type of pet. Saturday, she was called and was requested to come into the office and help with a pet that wouldn't eat. She did so.

A pet was brought into the vet for a serious kidney problem. Its probably going to cost hundreds of dollars to "try" to get this pet well. Even if the pet doesn't make it, the owner will still be hit with a huge bill. It turns out that I know the owners mother and just by happenstance found this out. The owners of this pet do not have the money for the vet bill. Her son has been laid off for several months, she works two jobs and goes to school. When they acquired the pet, they had the resources. Now they do not. The worst part of this seems that they are now or will be faced with a difficult choice.....continue the care or don't continue it. We know the consequences of not continuing it.

Now to the point of the post. This situation is just systematic of whats going on out there in amerika and what will get worse.....people will increasingly (I'm sure its happening now) not be able to afford to take their pets into the vets......a time will come that adults/parents will neglect themselves because they cant afford it.....and in the end, children will eventually have to be neglected because of MONEY.....its a vicious circle where the poor will suffer and the rich will make excuses for it.

Somehow, America must turn itself around. So many reasons for that, and we all know what they are, so I wont rehash them here. But, it makes it incumbent on us to make the right choice in November. We MUST vote DEMOCRATIC, no matter what!
