Stop The War Now!
Let's think long and hard about the justification used for this war. Cherry picked intelligence and maybe some lies were spoon fed to the American public and their elected representatives. Then there is the question of the surge or as I like to call GWB's attempt to rescue his place in history. What are we fighting for? Why are we still there? If we withdraw what are the ramifications? Why are we wasting our finest on playing policeman on tribal civil war?

We lose, whether we stay or go. Whenever we do leave, the Muslim Imams will have the countries constitution overruled or changed to an Islamic state. I predict that that country will fracture and become a three way fight for power, a real fur ball. The Shiia will join with Iran, the very thing we’re trying to avoid. Saudi Arabia will continue to help the Sunni against the Shiia. God help the Kurds.

So far as I’m concerned, I don’t believe the fear factor being peddled by some. That is, they’d rather fight them over there then here. What they’d rather is, sending someone else’s son or daughter in harm’s way to maintain our national honor and to stop history from dumping a bucket of poo on GWB’s head.

Despite having a slight majority in the Senate or maybe because, the Democratic Party has allowed itself to be painted into the corner and become ineffectual by another excellent PR program put on by the Republican Party. Memories of denying funds to the Viet Nam War and what resulted, has the Democratic Party running scared. It is time to stand up and say enough's enough! WITHDRAW NOW! Take the President at his word "Mission Accomplished". Let the Iraqi stand up on their two feet, or not. This is what the Americans voted for last November and the majority still wants today.

Calls for Impeachment are a joke. They can’t even get a non binding resolution opposing the surge through the Senate. Submit an overturn the authorization for the Iraq war and demand we withdraw. Let the Republicans filibuster that and show their true colors. Make them filibuster that and stop all other items on the legislative calendar. If for some strange reason it passed, it would set up a constitutional crisis that the packed SCOTUS will have to decide. In any case, it takes the onus off the Democratic Party and puts it back where it belongs.

1. Oh, this isn't going to happen over night.
We win if we keep hitting on them - over and over, and over again.

The only bet we have to make is that the congress want to keep their job next year.

Good bet.

And absolutely - the best out come they can look forward to is impeachment.

A sucessful one - from our perspective.

They do not have a prayer -

They are doing ok so far - this congress. They just need to keep going. They will.

This isn't going to go on too long.

Joe
