McCain to Letterman: "We've wasted a lot of American lives."
via atrios, who is "Looking forward to the conservative outrage machine showing some consistency," this from a McCain announcment story:

http://apnews.myway.com/article/20070301/D8NJCKM80.html

"Americans are very frustrated, and they have every right to be," McCain said. "We've wasted a lot of our most precious treasure, which is American lives."

In February, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama described the lives of troops in Iraq as having been "wasted" but then apologized a day later for making what he called "a slip of the tongue" that he said was not meant to diminish their sacrifice.

2. Don't say "we" to me mccain
I was raked over the coals by people like you in late 2002, early 2003 because I thought it was wrong to go to Iraq and I voiced my opinion. Had my patriotism questioned, was shouted at by ignorant trash who would contemplate voting for you. You ignorant motherfucking conservatives are extremely high maintenance. "We" have not wasted american lives, bucko. You and your kind have.

8. funny
A couple of weeks ago I believe it was Barak Obama who said the same thing and was forced to make a retraction by the reich wing echo chamber disguised as the "librul media."

9. This will get the flashing red lights going, won't it?
Will the 101st Fighting Keyboarders descend en masse to give McCain grief, like they did Obama? Will McCain be forced to apologize today? America is breathless with anticipation to see if IOKIYAR still holds sway.

11. Stand in the well of the Senate and say that, Mr. McCain.
Don't say "We've wasted a lot of American lives" to funny-man Letterman! SAY IT TO UN-FUNNY-MAN LIEBERMAN! Say it to your cronies who continue as apologists for our Massacre in Mesopotamia. Take a ride over to 1600 Pennsylvania and tell it to that foam-flanked madman and his frothing, spewing Vice!

For Gods-sake, man: Come to your senses and denounce this madness! Like Keith Olberman, I use the phrase of Oliver Cromwell's: I beseech you, in the bowels of Christ, think it possible you may be mistaken.

14. Somebody go rec Rose Siding's post on the same subject in GD:P, please
I'd like to see this on the "greatest."

Here's some more crap Freepers were saying about Obama when he used the same word:

They are curiously silent on McCain.
