Car Powered By Water A Reality
-snip-

(LOUISVILLE) -- Along Florida's Gulf Coast, water is everywhere. From the bay to the beach to the town of Clearwater, that is where we found Denny Klein. A man driven by water, literally.

Klein has invented the world's first water powered car. It runs on what he calls "Aquygen." Aquygen is water or H2O, broken down and turned into HHO gas, something scientists once thought impossible.

"Any PhD or library, they say you can't mix hydrogen and oxygen. And still to this day we get a lot of people who don't believe us because that's what they were taught," Klein said.

But people are quickly learning Klein and his car are for real.

2. There's always somebody claiming he's evaded entropy
And always others with no science background who're panting to sign up.

8. Yep.
I had an argument with a friend about this some two years ago. Some people just don't get science I guess. Still you'd figure they'd understand the system consumes more energy then it produces and so it isn't economically viable.

4. Oh, those dumb scientists!
Forever saying that something is impossible until some regular guy goes ahead and just does it, goshdarn it.

Heck, some of those scientists get so angry about what the regular guy did that they actually take the time to prove that he's full of shit.

Scientists! I tell ya! Have another Bud Lite.

10. I have an acquaintance who has been on a quest for the perpetual motion machine for years
hes tried this one too, anyways on the one hand all hes gotten for his efforts throughout the years is a lighter wallet plus the nickname of perpetual motion and on the other hand what we've gotten during that same time period is him preoccupied so he can't cause any other mischief :-)

7. Talk about idiots replying
RTFA. This is simple on demand hydrogen generator, that uses lye to create the gas. The gas (they call it HHO because it is H & O uncombined) is fed into the intake manifold, which provides power and increases gasoline's ability to burn, adding nothing but water vapor to the exhaust, and decreasing emissions. They talk about huge gas milage increases, but I am a bit skeptical of the double your MPG claim.

I have the plans for one of these rigs. being a car nut, and knowing someone who has this in their car already, has convinced me the build one.

9. I know someone here in Houston doing the same thing....
...demand generation of HHO, via excess output from the alternator, and feeding the resultant gas into the intake. Not double your mileage, but a significant increase. Planning on getting one for my Bonneville, $4/gal gas makes it feasible. No violation of thermodynamics, just leaning out the mixture....

11. How does one lean out the fuel mixture on present day autos
are you saying the engine management computer will do that automatically? Considering that an alternator is not 100% efficient and an ICE is somewhere around 30%, I can't see how it could be anything except a drain and not a gain. The power to make that electricity has to come from somewhere, its not like an engine has any excess just waiting to be tapped. Oh it has more power available but you have to feed it more to get it. I don't think I'll be putting a net gain of less than zero apparatus on any of my autos anytime soon. When gas drops back to around a quarter a gallon like it was when I was a kid then maybe I would but thats not going to happen.

Anyways fill me in on how, after the losses I mentioned are factored in, there is a gain in there somewhere. It takes around an 8 hp gasoline engine to produce 4000 watts of electricity for starters.

Not trying to be a s. a. just trying to learn something new :-)
