McCain weasels on "wasted lives."
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/story?id=2915397&page=1

March 1, 2007— A remark Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., made on CBS's Late Show with David Letterman Wednesday night is generating some controversy.

"Americans are very frustrated, and they have every right to be," McCain said about the war in Iraq. "We've wasted a lot of our most precious treasure, which is American lives."

The concept that American lives are being "wasted" is specifically what drew political fire.

"We think Senator McCain should apologize immediately," said DNC communictions director Karen Finney. "And he certainly should explain how it is that he now believes American lives are being wasted when he so stubbornly supports the president's plan to escalate the war in Iraq — which would put even more lives in harms way."

McCain's Senate office released a statement from the senator that did not contain an apology, but suggesting that he "should have used the word, sacrificed, as I have in the past."

1. Real easy to confuse waste and sacrifice.
This is getting better.

2. sacrificed what bullshit. Sacrificed to lies, greed, racism and stupidity maybe
but sacrificed for American freedom? ABSOLUTELY NOT.
Those lives are being wasted and worse than wasted. They are being shat away.

Fuck you, Karen Finney. If you want to out-goosestep the Nazis why don't you just join their party and get the hell out of mine???

McCain is wrong to support the "deeper-hole" strategy of Bush but he was RIGHT to say that those 3,158 American lives have been wasted in Iraq.
