Gallery: Vaporware for Pot SmokersHerbal enthusiasts -- otherwise known as potheads -- are putting a high-tech spin on the age-old practice of getting high as a kite. Tokers are turning to specialized devices that vaporize marijuana rather than burning it. The vaporizers get hot enough to extract all the plant's psychotropic chemicals, but not hot enough to actually combust. The smoker gets a hit of sweet, sticky vapor -- and an allegedly healthier high, since the carcinogens and solid particles get left behind, that's especially attractive to users of medicinal marijuana.

LOL - seriously, Vaporizors are the only way to go if you plan on smoking pot regularly. I'm an asthmatic and used to have issues with smoking. Vaporizing never sends me into a coughing fit or wheezing. Granted, the SAFEST way to do cannabis is cooking and eating, but if you don't want the 4-6 hour high this is a good way to go.

4. If you pay a lot for your weed, this is how to get the most bang for your buck.

The majority of the active ingredient burns off when you put a flame to it, something like 80% or more. Vaporizors pretty much flip flop that percentage. Or so I've heard.

Pot will make you feel happy, relaxed and unusually sexual, sure...But, it WILL also expand your mind & thoughts, and your perceptiveness... music will sound too fantastic for words, and movies, well, they'll become even more interesting & hypnotizing to you...OK, so it's not addictive, But you might start laughing out of control at the idiocy of it all, or even perhaps for no good reason...It's very helpful medicinally, granted and yes, it's been proved by a thirty year study not to have any negative effects on the body...Some say it's god's wondrous gift to us humans...Still, if someone should ever offer you some organically grown, THC dripping cannabis or indica bud...Just say NO!

He always considered them "tools of the devil", but he felt it was the right of an individual to ingest what ever they wanted. So long as it didn't affect him. Almost every coffee shop in Amsterdam has one; of all the various ways I consumed cannabis while I was there (spliff, bong, brownie, space cake, etc), this was my favourite.

26. Not so much.

The trick is to take small hits. It's pretty concentrated, after all. You'll cough your head off if you take a big lungful of smoke like you would when smoking a water pipe, but it's fine if you adjust your technique to the implement.

Taking my annual trip to Amsterdam in a few weeks; first thing I'm doing when I get there is going for a full English breakfast washed down with lots of tea and a few vapouriser hits (excellent way to start off the day, it is).

My favourite is the glassware made to be used with the heat gun, but it's more tuned for giving you powerfull blasts all at once. Depends on what you're looking for.

If you're not as much of a pothead as I am, or looking to inhale medicinally, you're probably right, nothing can beat the Volcano.

I have a friend who is a serious smoker and he's bought a few in the past, all worked well for a week or so. He finally shelled out $400 for something called The Volcano and it apparently works great. The one thing I have learned lately is that half of the crap that's bad for you from smoking comes from the lighters. Inhaling butane while you are trying to light up. Vaporizers eliminate that completely, also in the summer I'll go outside with a magnifying glass and use it to light up, another way to avoid sucking butane.

The principle is that it make a specific temperature at which the good stuff is released?

If you think about the physics of a joint, one would expect that at some distance from the coal end, there is a section of cannabis hitting that temp, so the joint is just as good.
