Something that needs to be said about cervical cancer.
And it's not about the vaccine. It's about oral cancer. The type of cancer that Bruce Paltrow and Bobby Hamilton died from.

From oralcancerfoundation.org:

is also possible that those in this younger age group have a causal link which is viral based, since the amount of time they have been exposed to other known causative agents such as tobacco is short. The human papilloma virus, particularly versions 16 and 18, has now been shown to be sexually transmitted between partners, and is implicated in the increasing incidence of young non-smoking oral cancer patients. This is the same virus that is the causative agent in more than 90% of all cervical cancers.

My husband was diagnosed with Stage 3 oral cancer on 11/06. He was a social smoker/drinker, 39 years old. Given 50% chance of living, 40% chance of cancer recurring in first year or 2. Treatment was GRUELING. Radiation to neck, throat burns, feeding tube, sickening chemo, 75lb weight loss. He took it better than most. Most end up in the hospital, or dead.

His tumor was HPV-neg. However, the doctor said he is seeing head and neck cancer more and more in younger people with no risk factors.

I learned all I could about oral cancer. I have not read any posts (forgive me if I missed them) about the link between HPV and oral cancer. I am not making a case for the vaccine; I just want to make people aware of this.

1. hpv can also be transmitted with fingers.
you don't have to have full on sex to gt the virus.

the point is that humans are and have always been an extremely rany lot -- and there is really nothing that won't keep them from fooling around.

it's just that it's coming as shock for people to find out that folk will rub their wee-wees and hoo-haws on just about ANYTHING that feels good.

the sooner we get used to the idea that ''spread'' ourselves around -- the sooner we will get to real sane conversations.

2. I hope your husband is doing better.
That must have been a scary experience. Thanks for this information.
