Sick and damn tired of this crap!
An email from my sister. This shit just pisses me off. I've told her not to send this kind of crap to me...just pass me by on this stuff. She has promised more than once she wouldn't, but she keeps on. I'm blocking her from this point on. If it's important enough she can pick up a phone.

Basically, this is saying that John Lennon, victims of the Titanic, Marilyn Monroe and others deserved to die because they 'mocked' gawd.

:grr:

DID YOU KNOW THESE FACTS?
I SURE DIDN'T TILL NOW
Death is certain but the Bible speaks about untimely death!
Make a personal reflection about this.....
Very interesting, read until the end.....
It is written in the Bible (Galatians 6:7):
'Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sow, that shall he also reap.

Here are some men and women who mocked God :

John Lennon (Singer):
Some years before, during his interview with an American Magazine, he said: 'Christianity will end, it will disappear. I do not have to argue about that. I am certain. Jesus was ok, but his subjects were too simple, today we are more famous than Him' (1966).
Lennon, after saying that the Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ, was shot six times.

Tancredo Neves (President of Brazil ):
During the Presidential campaign, he said if he got 500,000 votes from his party, not even God would remove him from Presidency. Sure he got the votes, but he got sick a day before being made President, then he died.

Cazuza (Bi-sexual Brazilian composer, singer and poet):
During A show in Canecio ( Rio de Janeiro ), while smoking his cigarette, he puffed out some smoke into the air and said:'God, that's for you.'
He died at the age of 32 of LUNG CANCER in a horrible manner.

The man who built the Titanic
After the construction of Titanic, a reporter asked him how safe the Titanic would be. With an ironic tone he said:
'Not even God can sink it' The result: I think you all know what happened to the Titanic

Marilyn Monroe (Actress)
She was visited by Billy Graham during a presentation of a show. He said the Spirit of God had sent him to preach to her.
After hearing what the Preacher had to say, she said: 'I don't need your Jesus'. A week later, she was found dead in her apartment

Bon Scott (Singer)
The ex-vocalist of the AC/DC. On one of his 1979 songs he sang: 'Don't stop me; I'm going down all the way, down the highway to hell'. On the 19th of February 1980, Bon Scott was found dead, he had been choked by his own vomit.

Campinas (IN 2005)
In Campinas , Brazil a group of friends, drunk, went to pick up a friend..... The mother accompanied her to the car and was so worried about the drunkenness of her friends and she said to the daughter holding her hand, who was already seated in the car: 'My Daughter, Go With God And May He Protect You.' She responded: 'Only If He (God) Travels In The Trunk, Cause Inside Here.....It's Already Full ' Hours later, news came by that they had been involved in a fatal accident, everyone had died, the car could not be recognized what type of car it had been, but surprisingly, the trunk was intact. The police said there was no way the trunk could have remained intact. To their surprise, inside the trunk was a crate of eggs, none was broken

Christine Hewitt (Jamaican Journalist and entertainer) said the Bible (Word of God) was the worst book ever written. In June 2006 she was found burnt beyond recognition in her motor vehicle.

1. I thought Lennon was shot in 1980...
The snippet suggests he was shot in 1966. And given Lennon's penchant for looking like Jesus with the long beard and all, Freud would have had a field day...

2. So, by her reasoning,
it you don't mock that strange man in the sky, you live forever?

Or do you just get to die nicely?

There's a word for people who send this crap around. I'll refrain from using it here.

3. Sounds like people who haven't evolved from the dark ages and superstition.
What a painful existence people like that must have. I have never understood it when it is said someone is a "good" God fearing man/woman. No doubt without direct feedback from God as to what he/she thinks is bad or good, and being so fearful, your imagination will cause your life to descend into its own hell.

4. She's mocking "God" by claiming to understand Divine Judgement.
The First Commandment: I am the Lord thy God, thou shalt have no strange gods before Me, includes the god we make of our own minds when we claim absolute understanding of "God" in any way shape or form. Your sister and those like her are Blasphemers. This is not an outlandish interpretation of the First Commandment. Catholics used to be cautioned against it all of the time. The nuns used to tell this particular retired Catholic that Blasphemy is the sin that puts your soul in the most danger. It's quite common these days; people speak for "God" ALL of the time.

6. There is just something special about fundie gawd-fearin' email
"The man who built the Titanic"

Jesus' little reporter here couldn't even look up the man's name??? Encylopedia has too many big words in it?? Articles on science and evolution???

I don't get many of these things, and when I do, they get deleted immediately.

I know quite a few fundies. I've always had this image of them sitting in a circle while some dummy tells them fantasy stories and they all nod stupidly. The dummy usually starts the story, "The bible sez...<<insert today's threatening, stupid, and bigoted comment here.>>

7. Tell her we are ALL going to die and that those of us
who do risky things are quite likely to die sooner.

Remind her how old Madalyn Murray O'Hair was when someone murdered her for money, how old Bertrand Russell was when he died.

Then ask her where her god was when people were killed for no other reason than they'd boarded airplanes or gone to work on 9/11.

Well, that is if you want to keep her around. Believers hate contrary facts and tough questions.

13. Yeah, and ask her how many people survived 9/11 because even though they worked in the WTC,
they for some reason didn't feel like going to work that morning, so they called in sick even though they weren't.

I imagine there were quite a few. And that they've had to cope since then, in some cases, with the knowledge that their bosses and coworkers died and they didn't.

Life is like that. It is not the place of pure justice and righteousness that some people would like it to be.

But they convince themselves it is, anyway, because the thought of a world in which bad stuff happens to people at random, and others are spared from it for reasons ranging from good to bad to none at all, frightens them to death.

They would rather believe they can protect themselves from disaster by "good" behavior. But they can't.

I'd do more than 'block' her but that's me...

How infuriating to get that crap sent to you by a persistent sibling!

I'd be pissed off too, by her lack of respect for your wishes! :grr:

From one of my fundie brothers.

Sadly, they haven't yet figured out that no matter how many of these they send, I'LL STILL BE A LIBERAL!!!

They don't get that they are WRONG!!!

Sad. Just sad.

12. That must be really annoying, having to block a sibling.
1) Don't we all die?
2)Huh, I mock "GOD" all the time and I'm not dead yet.
3) Pain to have to block contact with a sibling.
