Vatican: It's OK To Believe In Aliens!
Vatican: It's OK to believe in aliens
The chief astronomer says those beliefs don't contradict faith in God
Associated Press
May 13, 2008

VATICAN CITY - The Vatican's chief astronomer says that believing in aliens does not contradict faith in God.

The Rev. Jose Gabriel Funes, the Jesuit director of the Vatican Observatory, said that the vastness of the universe means it is possible there could be other forms of life outside Earth, even intelligent ones.

In an interview published Tuesday by Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano, Funes said that such a notion "doesn't contradict our faith" because aliens would still be God's creatures.

I wonder who their God is or God's are.

1. one of the greatest collection of (secret)
data, writings, historical events, and more exists deep within the bowels of the Vatican Library. I would LOVE to speak ancient languages, and be able to sneak in there and browse around.

Too many religious paintings show weird things like space ships, novae, and other weird events that we tend to ignore and gloss over.

Of course, even the vatican's collection pales in comparison to what was destroyed in Alexandria.

Book burnings - the first mortal sin.

2. I guess they're getting us ready
for the landings.

Hopefully we won't have to go all Fremen on them.

9. It's cool... I gave yours a K&R now, anyways...
I've seen where some other posters will come into a thread like this and post "DUPE" or something of that nature. I don't do that, because I know how people brag about their ignore lists, and I'm sure I'm on a few of them. A duplicate post might make it possible for others to see it where they wouldn't have if they had someone on ignore..

PEACE!

Ghost

10. I seriously hope Aliens aren't "discovered" in my lifetime.
I mean come on people. Can you imagine what it would be like if Aliens were confirmed or something like Vampires or something.

People would run to religion in DROVES. Someone like Hagee or Pat Robertson would have the White House and most of the legislature.

Instant theocracy/police state and panic. over night.
