They probably mean free speech in the first amendment sense: speech which is free of government intrusion.

Liveleak would post it, but YouTUBE is big on copyright enforcement ever since they got sued. My guess is that it was banned for the soundtrack.

I've had a vid banned for copyright infringement( I believe because I insulted the band) but the reason given for this ban was inappropriate content

Although fuzzed, it could be argued that the video violates #1. It violates #2 (if animal abuse qualifies as bad stuff, I'm sure human abuse qualifies). #3 is clearly and unarguably violated by this video. You could make an argument for #4, and we've already discused how it violates #5.

Yes, I can understand how it got banned. YouTube has always steered clear of anything "objectionable", angling more for the community oriented, family friendly crowd (where the money is). That's why shock sites like Break and censor-free sites like Liveleak exist...they publish the kind of things that YouTube won't. This is nothing new.

10. It Was Gruesome And Meant To Shock

but guess what - war is gruesome and shocking.

Most of us don't really know what's going on over there, and too many don't want to know. The intent of this video (I imagine) is to jolt us awake to reality.
